IT’S TIME TO PLANT

jj.jpgSpring and summer are beautiful seasons in the Northwest; this year we’ve already had all four seasons, several times. Ha!  We are praying that we will now have a typical summer that will last more than a week!! {Not a complaint; I actually like the cooler seasons, myself.)

Spiritually speaking, it is a new season, and it’s TIME TO PLANT!

Many times I’ve heard people ask… “WHY IS THIS HAPPENING TO ME!??!!” or “WHY IS GOD DOING THIS TO ME!?!”  Some times the root of the thing is easy to see… if you’ve been listening to the things they’ve been planting into the garden of their life. Other times it takes a few questions to get to the root of the problem. If we understand the law of “reaping and sowing” – then we know that we will reap what we sow, both good and bad.  If we do not understand the law of reaping and sowing… we will STILL reap what we sow; so it’s really important to understand this spiritual-principal – as long as you live on this planet - it will not change.

Genesis 8:22 “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”

So… what are YOU PLANTING this season? Pay attention to your WORDS… that’s the seed that you are planting into your life, and into the lives of others; what kind of fruit are you growing??

Gal 6:7-8 “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatever a man SOWS – that he will also reap. He who sows to the flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

Proverbs 18:20-21 “A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth; from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

Just take a quick account of the things you’ve said about yourself and your family JUST TODAY: Did you say… Me and my household will server the Lord; we are blessed and highly favored by God; My home is a sanctuary where God abides; my family live together in perfect harmony! Or did you say… I hate this house, and my children are such a mess… they’ll never amount to anything!!!  Are you speaking DEATH, or LIFE into your life and into the lives of those around you?

Proverbs 12:14 “A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth...”

Oh, I realize it’s much easier to blame our circumstances on the “devil” (I personally think that we give him waaaaaay too much credit!!) – or even on others… but when we are ready to believe God’s Word, and repent of the things we’ve planted… then we’re ready to plant a new crop of fruit (replace the weeds)!

We need to be careful what seed we plant… it will grow! What are you saying about your future? What are you planting in the lives of your children?

We should be agreeing with God, and what HE SAYS about us… that’s the seed we should be planting, watering with prayer, and acting on.

Weed:

Seed:

“My children will never serve God!”

-or-

“Me and my house, we will serve the Lord!(and Acts 16:31)

“My grandmother and my mother both had a nervous breakdown at age twenty… I will too!”

-or-

“Jesus Christ is my healer! I have the mind of Christ! Who the Son sets free is free indeed!

“My dad died at a young age… I will too!”

-or-

“Jesus is my healer! I will live long and declare the works of God!

“I’ll never get out of debt!!”

-or-

“My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches!

I have a friend whose husband planted an early death into his life: “My dad died when he was 42 – I will too.”  Not once, but many times… and sure enough, at age 42 – he died and left behind three small children. HOW SAD!!

I have a cousin who planted an early death into his own life with this seed: “No one in my family live to be sixty.”  - He died at age 59.

I realize that some have taken this teaching and pushed it to an extreme; that doesn’t change what the Word of God teaches. God’s Word is truth let’s get in agreement with Him – and plant a garden filled with His goodness.

WHAT SEED WILL YOU PLANT TODAY?

Shalom! SHINE ON!!
