Jesus is Salvation-
YESHUA!
There are some amazing
verses about Yeshua in Isaiah chapter 12: 2 and 3- Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be
afraid: for the LORD YHVH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. Therefore
with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
Why exactly were Yeshua's earthly
parents told to name Him "Jesus/Yeshua- for He shall save His people from
their sins"? I truly believe the Name Jesus, while beloved to so many who
call on Him for salvation, does not explain why exactly this Name saves.
Neither do I believe anyone has to learn Hebrew to know all the wonder that He
is- except, if one would learn this beautiful Hebrew name, YESHUA, a wonderful
and glorious mystery unfolds. The Name Yeshuah is the
Hebrew word for "salvation!" Let us then look again at the verses
quoted above- "Behold God (EL) is my salvation (Yeshua-Jesus!) I will
trust and not be afraid... For the LORD (YHVH) is my strength and my song and
He also is become my salvation (Yeshua-Jesus)! Therefore with joy shall you
draw water (Living water!) out of the wells of Salvation (Yeshua- Jesus)!
What an amazing thing. Believers are often at a loss when asked to
explain how our wonderful Messiah, our Redeemer, could be a man and yet be
wholly God. The objection is made that no man can see God and
live. This is actually straight out of Scripture and yet many do not
understand the verse. In Exodus 33:20 Adonai told Moshe "no man can see Me and live" and yet Moshe (Moses) certainly did see
Him and lived. In Numbers 12:6-8 God explains that Moshe certainly did talk to
Him and not in a vision, but personally and Exodus 34:29- 35 tells us when and
how. Moshe had ascended the Mount and had come down with His face shining with His
Glory after even eating with Him there! Avraham, long
before Moshe, saw the LORD Almighty Himself in Genesis 17:1. When He saw Him he
fell on his face in stunned wonder and worship. He also recognized Him when he
was sitting in his tent after the circumcision and bowed himself to the ground,
realizing that one of the three was the LORD Himself. Isaiah in chapter 6, was allowed to see into the throne room of Heaven and
also fell on his face, crying that he was a man of unclean lips. And yet he saw
the LORD high and lifted up. So how do we explain this? John 1:18 also says no
one has seen Him at any time.
Let me ask you- have you seen the sun? Before you answer yes,
think carefully. Most of us know if we gaze at that bright orb in the sky long
enough we will go blind. We have not seen the sun- we've not been up there to
look around it and into it. We would go blind first long before reaching it and
then die on the way there. In the Scriptures many times the Sun and the Son are
interchanged Psalm 19. The sun is described as a 'bridegroom coming out of his
chamber. Malachi 4:2 says that unto you who "fear my Name shall the SUN of
righteousness arise with healing in His wings!"
Yeshua is the Son but He is YHVH/God clothed in human flesh. God
is the Creator in Genesis 1, and Yeshua is Creator in John 1 and Colossians
1:16 and 17. God is the First and the Last mentioned in Isaiah 44:6 and 48:12
and yet Yeshua is the first and the last according to Revelation 1:8, 11, and
16. Isaiah 48:11 says God will not share His glory with any other, and yet
Yeshua in John 17:5 says "now O Father, Glorify Me with the Glory I had
with You before the world was." Isaiah 45:22 and
23 say that to God every knee will bow and yet Philippians 2:10 and 11 says
that to Yeshua/ Jesus- every knee will bow. God is called Saviour
and Redeemer in Isaiah 45:15 and 21 and this is also a designation given to
Yeshua Himself in the New Testament many times. God says also in Isaiah that
there is only ONE Saviour. Nine times in the English
Scriptures God is called our Saviour (there IS only
one) and nine times Yeshua/ Messiah/ Christ is called our Saviour
in the New Testament. So which one is the Saviour?
Here's another dilemma. During this time of year many love the
wondrous verse found in Isaiah 9:6. "For unto us a Child is born, unto us
a Son is given. And the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His Name
shall be called Wonderful Counselor! Mighty God, Everlasting Father, the Prince
of Peace." Wait a minute! The Son will be called the Father? I submit to
you on the basis of Scripture that the Son is YHVH Himself, clothed in human
flesh.
1 Timothy 3:16 says "And without controversy great is the
mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit,
seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received
up into glory." Hebrews 1:3 says "Who being the brightness of his
glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the
word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the
right hand of the Majesty on high." Yeshua is the exact image of the ONE Saviour, the ONE God who sits on the throne who is the
King, Redeemer, First and Last and only God to be worshipped.
Yeshua! Salvation! Was He truly God? This is the stone which the
Jewish people mostly reject. The Stone which the builders rejected is the Head
of the corner. We know this. But consider this- what is the rock of offense in
Isaiah 8:14? "And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of
stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and
for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem." The word stone in Hebrew is
'eben'... alef, beit nun. What a wonder in this one word! The word eben contains two smaller words. Alef
beit is AV- Father... and beit
nun is BEN, Son. The Stone is ONE. Father/Son.
When Yeshua said so many times in the Book of John "I
am..." did you realise there was no
"he" after it? In the English Bibles many places (John 8:24, 28, John
13:19, John 18:5, 6, 8) He said "I am (he)." He is in italics. When He said that the Jews understood. They took up stones
to stone Him. They fell backwards. They were stunned and dismayed. They knew!
Yeshua came to earth and was born in a tiny body of a helpless
human baby. And yet He is Himself, mighty God in flesh, and our great
salvation.
