"Because of ten children, five of them with extremely strong powers." "Children! You lost to children! Well, did you at least get my new body?" Daryl threw out a Master Ball, and Alakazam appeared. "This was Mewgi's former Pokemon, it died when he died. You can take control of its body now." "I knew you would be good for something, Daryl." The black ball of energy engulfed the Alakazam body and laughed evilly, "This will do well, Daryl. Thank you; now prepare that pitiful planet for my arrival. For I, Cyril, will rise again!" "You forgot about me Master." a woman said. "Yes, Melissa. Daryl, here's your new partner, perhaps you remember her. She'll make sure you get the job done." At the Saffron City gym "Blackie! As soon as they began walking Billy and Cozmo disappeared in an aura of blue light. Back at the Gym Billy and Cozmo appeared in the Saffron Gym, Mike, Skye, Misao, Darren, Aoshi, Sarah, Jason, and Janice was there also. "Cozmo!" Skye yelled, running over to her best friend. "Skye! "Because I'm destroying Indigo Island from the past. After this place is gone Cyril will have a direct path to Earth." A few puffs of smoke still lingered in a corner of the room veiling the figure of a young woman who stepped forward. Dressed completely in white, the girl looked identical to her counterpart who wore dark clothes. I thought you and your sister were together?" "When we were under Mewgi's control, yes, but now, no. He took out a pokeball, "Pidgeotto go! everyone climb on." Mike was right, when they got to Professor oak's Lab it was half gone. Melissa was blasting at it with psychic attacks as well were her pokemon using their own attacks. "Oh no. What if we're too late?" Skye said stressfully. "We'll do what we can." Cozmo answered. "We should get Melissa first." Janice said. Mike got ready to power up, "I'll get her." Skye nodded her head, "I'll help." "Wait!" Darren yelled, "Be careful of the building collapsing. It's gonna go any minute." "Not if we can help it." Mike said now running towards Melissa. "Pikachu!" Mike yelled. "Blackie!" Skye yelled. "We'll get her pokemon." Sarah said calmly. He shook his head, "No, I don't know it." "We should go in three or four groups and span out across the town then. It's probably not far from the first building. We'll have people on the ground and people in the air. We'll keep in touch telepathically." Janice suggested. "Alright. That sounds like a good idea." Mike agreed getting ready to release Pidgeotto. "How about we just follow the flames." Cozmo pointed towards a large building about a block away. "We could do that. Pidgeotto, Go!" Melissa had gotten to the police station and was happily flattening it again. But this time she didn't have as much of a head start. "Here we go again. Let's move, same as before but do it faster! we're not letting this one go too." Mike said and headed towards her but grew weak and had to stop. "What's happening Mike!?" Skye hollered. "He's disappearing." Billy said following Skye. "Daryl did this. I know it." Mike said before he disappeared. "Where did he go?" Janice asked. Jason looked puzzled, "Who go?" When the fifteen minutes is up you will be back here because when you arrive with your friends the you that is trying to save Mike would have to create too much of a paradox, therefore you will back at this time. By tomorrow morning we should be able to set out." Jason looked up at the sky. "Night. How long was I out?" "Long time. Cozmo asked, with a voice of steel. "How could you calm down when you know that someone died for you? Knowing that maybe you could of prevented the death of someone that cared for you. Beedrill! GO!" Matt replied, and the Giant Beedrill came out. "Pidgeotto! Razor Wind!" "Beedrill! Twin Needle!" The wind hit the needles and sent them spiraling upward. "Beedrill! Agility!" Matt yelled. Beedrill appeared to be nowhere. "Pidgeotto! Defense Boost!" Pidgeotto glowed green, and started to become extra powerful. "Beedrill! Poison Sting!" Beedrill appeared in behind of Pidgeotto and jabbed on of it's stingers into Pidgeotto. "Gooo!" Pidgeotto yelled in pain. "Pidgeotto! Return!" Mike yelled, throwing hit Poke-Ball. Pidgeotto smacked the Poke-Ball away. "Pidgeotto..." Mike said. Pidgeotto tried to fly to meet Beedrill, but in a failing flight, it fell to the ground. "Again the superior beats the inferior." Matt said. "You... PULSAR!" Mike yelled, his green powers spiraling outward into a green storm. Matt tried to fight the storm, but he was flung off of the roof. Mike's powers stopped, as he heard a "PIDGEOTTO!" Pidgeotto flew up, glowing white. "Pidge...otto." Mike said, weakly. "PIDGEOT!" Pidgeot yelled, flying up to meet Beedrill. "Pidgeot! Wing Attack!" Mike yelled. Suddenly, as Beedrill fell from the hit and Mike called his giant Pidgeot back, Matt jumped up with a red blade in his hand. "Now you shall DIE!" Matt yelled out. "Death is only the beginning..." Mike muttered weakly. Matt grinned an evil grin. As he lowered the blade, Mike started glowing green, and his whole body became a green glow. The green became a sphere, the then the sphere seperated into 2 spheres, 1 black and 1 white. Matt screamed as a horrible sound filled his head. Down on the ground, Skye and Howard screamed and they fell on the ground in pain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Around the fire, Jason and Nicky suddenly clutched their heads and screamed in pain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Aoshi heard a faint horrible sound touch his ears as Janice's unconscious body convulsed in pain. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Billy watched in horror while Misao screamed as she clutched her ears. "Misao! What's wrong!" Misao stopped screaming, and looked at the sky. "Something horrible has happened." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The 2 spheres swirled around and around, until launching into the opposite directions. Matt glared at the spheres. "You may of survived this encounter, Mike, but I'll be back." In a flash of red light, he teleported away. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The black sphere flew towards a jungle. In the jungle, it found some ruins. The Sphere entered a shrine in the ruins. Inside the shrine, the sphere glowed a dark black and Mike was back, in a black tunic and black jeans. "I shall wreak my vengeance. All that are good are my enemies. For I am Darkside." An evil laugh was heard coming from the jungle... ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Skye?! are you okay?!" Cozmo shook Skye as she lay on the ground in pain clutching her head. By now, Howard had stood up, the sound no longer had any effect. "What's going on?" Cozmo desperately questioned "What was that whole thing with Mike and Matt? Is Mike dead?" "No" Howard said "Something bad has happened, truly awful. But Mike is alive, just not quite...himself..." "What do you mean?" "That is something you'll have to learn on your own. Mookie and I must go now and get word on Mew, bye" and with that, he hopped in his washing machine and teleported away. "Wait!" Cozmo shouted with no use. He then mumbled "crazy old man" ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "What do you mean Misao? What's wrong?" asked Billy "I don't exactly know" said Misao "But there is a break in the link, I can sense it. Something is not right" "Should we go find the others now or wait for Gloom and Gengar?" "We'd better go now" The two then set off wandering ~~~~~~~~~~~ "What the heck was that?!" said Nicky, finally sitting up "I don't know, I'd better contact Janice" said Jason, sitting up and wincing in pain from when he fell onto his arm. Jason closed his eyes and focused his power. Nicky waited, but then spoke up after a few minutes of silence. "Isn't something supposed to happen here?" "She's not responding." ~~~~~~~~~~~ Aoshi shook off the sound, and tried to help Janice again. "Ok, looks as if she's more out of it than she was a few minutes ago" he sighed and looked around at the woods "We're hopelessly lost, and Janice is unconsious, great, just great. Hitmonlee, go search for help okay? or at least a clue to as where we are." ~~~~~~~~~~~ In a flash of red light, Matt appeared in a room before Daryl and Melissa. "So, how'd it go?" asked Daryl "I destroyed Mike" said Matt Melissa looked at Matt curiously "Really?" asked Daryl "No, he's lying" said Melissa "I can see it in his eyes" "Is this true?" "Well Daryl, not entirely. I did destroy Mike...but he well...still 'exists'" "What do you mean?" "I split his personalities" "What?" Melissa looked confused "How do you know? How is that possible?" "It's a long story" "We've got time" Daryl said, leaning back in his chair. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Skye still lay squirming in pain on the ground. Cozmo was desperate for, he had no clue what was going on. "Skye, snap out of it girl!" She went on like this for 5 more minutes, then fianally lay still, with raspy heavy breathing. She then stiffled out words "We...we need to...to..f...find Mike" "Yeah, but how, he was a sphere last time I saw him...that is, if I wasn't seeing things again" Cozmo helped Skye get up, who was seemingly getting better. "Where'd he...er...it go?" Skye asked "Well, the sphere seemed to split in two, but one half was too bright. I saw the dark one go off that way" he motioned to the east. "Can you like try to link to him?" "It won't work, the connection is broken. Something bad happened to Mike" "But Howard said he's still alive" "That may be, but why won't the connection work? it only happens if one person is...but that can't be though, I can feel that he's alive. Lets go to the east, the black sphere has something to do with this, if it'll help save Mike, I'll do anything" ~~~~~~~~~~~ Misao and Billy walked attentivly through the woods following behind Gloom and Gengar. "See anything yet?" asked Misao "Well it's kind of hard to see in the dark" said Billy "Maybe we should stop and wait until day" Misao stopped and turned to Billy. "We have to keep going, we'll be able to find them" "Umm...Misao, I'm over here, you're talking to a tree" giggled Billy Misao sweatdropped "heh heh...I knew that. You've got a point. Maybe we should stop after all" The two went to sit down, but then heard a faint sound. "c..uun...nn...o" Misao and Billy looked at each other and spoke at the same time "Wait a minute! that's-" then the took off running n the direction of the sound. Skye and Cozmo headed east through the woods nearing the jungle following Cozmo's Charmander who was leading the way through the dark. The sun was finally starting to rise. Skye suddenly got a cold chill. "Something evil is nearby" she said, looking around "You can detect evil now too?" "I didn't think I could...but this is different" "Uh Skye...do you hear that?" "Hear what?" "That laughing?" Charmander started to shake in fear and hid behind Cozmo ~~~~~~~~~~~ "They're both unconcious" said Misao, observing Darren and Sarah "Articuno's not doing that good either" said Billy "I'll try and use my power to heal them" Misao placed one hand on Sarah and the other on Darren. Billy took a pokeball from Sarah's belt and re-called Articuno. "Are they going to be okay?" "They hit this tree pretty hard, the winds must have been too strong to fly, but I'm sure they'll be ok" "Ah! so this evil side of Mike could actually work for us?" asked Daryl "Perhaps he won't bring my downfall after all!" "Yes, since he's against all good, he'll seek to destroy his friends" said Matt "I'll send him to destroy that little pest Skye, it'll be the perfect way to get her back for almost destroying my reign" "Uhh...Daryl, we don't 'really' need Skye destryed do we?" "You can't possibly like the little twit?!" said Melissa "She's an enemy!" "ummm...welll...I uh never said that" Melissa just rolled her eyes "surrrrre Matt, just DON'T get in the way if it cames down to her life. So anyway, how do we find this evil Mike?" "We'll have to search for him, but it might not be that hard, if he destroys all good, we'll simply follow his path of destruction" said Daryl "Whatever it is, it's coming closer" said Cozmo "Now I'm starting to get the creeps, everythings so silent, it's not natural in a forest" He then re-called Charmander. "H-Hello?" Skye called out in a shaky voice "Yes?" a voice answered. The tone sent shivers down Cozmo and Skye. A black cloaked figure stepped from the shadows. He lifted his head, and the new morning sun shone on his face revealing his identity. "Mike!!" Skye jumped forward and threw her arms around him "I was so worried!" His eyes narrowed and he shoved her to the ground. "Mike?" "Hey Mike, what's the big idea?" asked Cozmo "You will die" he said "Uh, joke's over Mike" said Cozmo "Do I look like I'm joking to you?" he boomed Skye opened her eyes wide with terror as she looked up at Mike. "Cozmo, we've got to get out of here..." she slowly backed up and rose to her feet "He's not joking, he's going to kill us" Mike smiled an evil grin. A deep green glow started to form around him "Oh no..." Skye said "Can't you fight him?" asked Cozmo "I can, but I don't want to. this is Mike, I could never hurt him no matter what, I love him" Cozmo quickly jumped, pulling Skye to the ground. When they looked up, they saw a sizzling pile of ash's. "Wasn't that just a tree?" asked Skye "Run!" Cozmo yelled. They both scurried to their feet and took off through the woods, getting scraped by branches as they ran. They could hear evil laughing close by. They took a quick turn to the right, dodging another green blast, looking back to see ashs where a row of trees used to be. "This cannot be good" said Cozmo "Well of course it c-RIGHT!!" Skye yelled "there goes that Mankey" said Cozmo, looking at the grusome site behind them. "Well, you know, thing's could be- LEFT!" This went on repetedly. for a long time. Mike just laughed and thought to himself "I could kill them now, but it's amusing to watch them run and dodge" "I don't know how much longer I can take this" Cozmo said Skye suddenly remembered something and started laughing. "What could possibly be funny?" "Happy Birthday Cozmo!" --=--=--=--=--=-- "She's not responding," Jason whispered breathlessly. An explanation formulated in his mind, but he shook it off. "No, she's not dead. She's not! I'll try again." Once again, failure. Nicky placed her arm comforting around the boy. It wasn't good for him to be so worried when he needed to concentrate on recovering. "It's not what you think," she murmured in a soothing voice, "She's in good hands." --=--=--=--=--=-- Aoshi sighed. "Where's Misao when you need her? I could sure use her healing powers," he thought aloud. He recalled that comatose patients sometimes were able to wake up from a voice of someone familiar. If he was going to think, he might as well think out loud with the hope that his voice, any voice, might bring her back. He had long stripped of his comfy jacket and wrapped it around Janice to keep her warm. Ever since that noise passed by them, the air seemed to drop several degrees in temperature. The sun was hidden behind dark clouds, which almost seemed to shadow the world. An evil aura in the atmosphere unnerved Aoshi for a moment before he dismissed it and returned to trying to revive Janice. But the nagging feeling just wouldn't leave. He withdrew two objects from within his shirt and placed them close to him, ready to be taken at a moment's notice. This seemed to reassure him for the time being. --=--=--=--=--=-- "You're right! It IS my birthd--DUCK!" A bolt of green energy whizzed over their heads to reduce a boulder to fine dust. "And that was your present, from me," Mike said right behind them, powering up. Cozmo's eyes darted around the forest for anything that might get them out of their predicament and noticed the overgrowth of long vines, especially the position of one right behind Mike's ankles which reached up by his left hand. 'Perfect!' he thought as grabbed the vine and pulled with all the strength he could muster. The vine knocked Mike cleanly off his feet, shooting the blast of energy intended for them, straight up into the dense canopy. "Come on! Go! Go! Go!" Cozmo shouted as he pushed Skye ahead just as bits of tree branches, leaves, and vines showered Mike. --=--=--=--=--=-- Darren yawned and blinked a couple of time, sleep still in his eyes. He thrust his arms out quickly to stretch and promptly heard a thump and groan. "Ow! Watch where you're stretching," Sarah mumbled. "Ah, sorry," he quickly apologized. "You guys are finally up!" Billy exclaimed happy, dropping an armload of firewood, and scooped them up in a crushing bear hug. Darren peeked over her shoulder to see Misao lying not far away, her face a deathly pale. He screamed(much to the girls' chagrin) and ran over to Misao. "What happened to her?" he demanded. Sarah gasped when she saw the girl, lying limp and pale on the ground. She felt for a pulse, which was weak and faint. Both stared at Billy who sat down by them and sighed. "When we found you guys, you both were seriously hurt. You guys hit the tree really hard, but Misao said you'd be alright. I thought she meant you weren't hurt as badly as it looked. She spent much of her energy to heal you both, leaving her pretty drained of her ki...She should be fine after resting. I guess it's a psychic thing." "Oh..." Sarah murmured. Darren hugged the sleeping Misao. "Thank you." --=--=--=--=--=-- "Perfect!" Daryl exclaimed, watching the events unfold as the dark Mike hunted his former friends, "But it seems his friends have eluded him for now. Leading him to us should prove to be a piece of cake; Melissa, I'll leave this task to you." "Whom shall I impersonate?" "Anyone of them you chose." Daryl laughed. "They barely seem like adversaries; it was a foolish choice to fight against me!" None of them noticed the smile on Matt's face. 'Perhaps there is a way for Skye to die without actually losing her,' his grin widened as he glanced over at Melissa, 'How hard could it be to trick a dimwit?' --=--=--=--=--=-- Skye stopped for a moment to catch her breath. "Hurry up, before your bent-on-destroying-us-boyfriend gives us another present!" Cozmo urged. "I think...we lost him," she panted. Cozmo scanned the area and listened for any tell-tale noises to give the evil Mike away. Nothing. "Alright," he said and promptly plopped down for a much needed rest, "Ahh...it feels good to get off my feet." Skye nodded. "You know Skye, I think you might be the only one to stop him." "What about the others? With their links--" "No," Cozmo cut Skye off, "We need to stop him now, before he can do more damage or kill one of us." Skye frowned and looked down. "I can't. I love him. Cozmo, you know that," Skye murmured. "Do you?" Skye snapped her head up to face him. "W..what?" "Do you /really/ love Mike?" "Yes! What kind of question is that?!?" "It just seems that if you really loved him, you'll stop this Mike." "What do you mean?" "Everyone has two sides, a good side and an evil side. Like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. No man or woman is pure; everyone is tainted with greed, jealousy, hate, etc. which forms the evil side, but everyone has kindness and compassion, the good side." "So what you are saying is that the Mike that's trying to kill us is the evil side?" "Yes. I believe that in Mike's soul was split, his good and evil sides seperated." "The fight with Matt..." "I guess that would explain it. So the good Mike is out there somewhere. They are both half of Mike, the Mike you love. If this Mike kills us, it's the same as the whole Mike doing the same deed, since the evil Mike is a part of Mike. Do you think Mike can live knowing that his hands are stained with the blood of his friends, of you?" Skye was speechless. "If you truly love Mike, you will spare him that agony and guilt, which will undoubtly send him into a deep depression and self-torment, and you will stop this evil Mike. We'll find a way to join the two again, but until then, you have to keep Mike from doing something he will regret. You have to do this, for the Mike you love."Skye gave Cozmo an uneasy look, "I know I love him, and I'd do anything for him, but I just can't." "Why?" Cozmo asked. "I don't know." Skye said as she ran into the forest. ************** Aoshi felt Janice's neck, her pulse was low and her body temperature was falling too fast. He found another jacket and put it around her. "Come on Janice. You've got to stay alive, someone will help us soon." As Aoshi leaned back against a tree and continued talking to Janice, he sighted a black flash of light. "What was that?!" Aoshi looked around and someone came into his view, "Mike? Wow, I sure am glad you're here. You've got to help me get Janice to a hospital or something." "Sorry kid. I'm not the helping type." "No time for jokes, Mike. Janice needs help." "I'm not joking Aoshi. I'm not the Mike you thing I am. Now get out of the way. Janice here will do me some good." (A.N. Obviously this is the evil Mike.) "You're not getting Janice!" Aoshi yelled, preparing for a fight. "Wanna bet!" Mike lifted Aoshi into the air and threw him into a rock. Aoshi knocked out instantly. Mike surrounded Janice with a black aura, "The fun has just started." he laughed. ***************** Jason screamed out in pain, "Is it your arm again, Jason?" Nicky asked. "No," Jason replied, "Someone has Janice. I've got to find her." Jason got up quickly, despite his broken arm, and ran into the forest at breakneck speed. "Jason, wait! You can't do this!" Nicky yelled, running after him. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Misao woke up slowly, as soon as she sat up Darren grabbed her. "Misao! Thank you so much," he whispered. "Don't mention it Darren." Misao replied. Sarah and Billy looked up, "Misao! Your okay!" both girls exclaimed. "We were worried." Sara said, "Glad you're okay." "Hey guys!" someone yelled. "Who's that?" Billy asked. "It sounds like Mike!" Darren exclaimed. Mike appeared from the bushes, "I'm glad I found you guys! We need to go, I have the strangest feeling that someone is in trouble." "Hmm I do too." Misao said, "Maybe we should find its source." "I guess we should go." Billy said. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jason stopped running as soon as he saw Aoshi knocked out on the ground and Janice being encircled with the black aura and being lifted into the air. "Leave her alone," he said demonically. Mike turned around slowly, and Jason almost fainted when he saw who it was. "Mike?" Jason asked. "The one and only," Mike replied. Just then Nicky caught up with Jason and saw what he had just seen, she was equally surprised. "Mike? What are you doing?!" Nicky asked. "Jason's little duplicate here will serve Daryl and Cyril well, with the death of this girl, he will die too, and then there's two members of your team gone." Mike replied. Jason's anger flared, he focused on Skye, "Skye, I need your help. Please get here." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Skye and Cozmo walked along the forest path, Skye was crying when she heard Jason's voice. "Cozmo, Jason needs my help, I think it's Mike." "You're the only one Skye. You have to go." Cozmo said. In a flash of blue light, Skye and Cozmo teleported to Jason and Nicky's side. "Skye!" Jason exclaimed, "You have to help Janice, I can't." "Well, I see you've made it Skye. I'm ready to fight." Mike said. "I-I can't fight you." "Why?" Nicky asked, "This obviously isn't our Mike, and he's about to hurt one of our friends! You've got to do something!" There was a long pause, Skye didn't reply. "I'm waiting Skye," Mike said, still holding Janice into the air." Skye still stood still. "Well if you're not going to help her. I will!" Jason yelled. Jason ran toward his sister. "Nice try twirp." Mike said as he stopped Jason dead in his tracks. "AAAAAAAHHHH!" Jason screamed in pain. "Make your choice now Skye." Mike said, "I'm draining the life energy out of them slowly, soon they'll be dead." "Come on Skye! They're dying!" Cozmo yelled. "Stop!" Skye yelled, "I'll fight you, just leave the twins alone." "On one condition, I get to keep Janice, and you have to fight me to get her back. If we don't fight within 24 hours, she dies and Jason will too because they're linked." Mike let go of Jason and he fell to the ground unconscious, "See ya tomorrow Skye." ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Mike... you look..." Billy started. "Different." Misao finished. Mike looked down at himself. His usual black clothing was replaced by a white that shimmered in the light he produced. "I'm not Mike." Mike replied. "Okey dokey." Sarah said. "Then who are you?" "Your understanding would be - Lightside." "Okay, Lightside." Darren said. "Are you with us?" Lightside stared at him, then raised his eyebrow. "That would be a stupid question." Lightside replied. Around the campfire, Skye, Cozmo, Jason, Aoshi, and Nicky held a meeting. "What are we going to do?" Jason asked. "Let Skye fight." Aoshi replied. "That's a fight I can't win." Skye replied. "If I did fight, I'd be letting part of Mike kill me, Jason, and Janice. You think Mike would ever let himself live with that knowledge?" "No choice." Nicky said. "No choice?" Cozmo replied. "There's always a choice." "We can let Skye fight, or not fight. Either way, Janice dies." "Skye." Jason suddenly said. Skye looked up. "What if you win?" "Then part of Mike dies." "I hate having to make all the hard decisions!" Cozmo erupted. "Why can't Mike be here. He'd know what to do." "That's it!" Nicky yelled. "What?" Skye asked. "When Mike was split, Cozmo said he saw 2 halves." Cozmo nodded. "But the other one was too bright." "Good and Evil." Aoshi reasoned. "We have to find the good Mike." "You 3 do it." Skye said. "I'll stay here with Jason." Cozmo and Aoshi turned to Nicky. "Right." She said, pulling out a Pok‚-ball. "Fearow, Go." The 3 flew up into the night sky. "All we can do is just wait." Skye said. ~~~~~~~~~ Darkside had watched all that had happened. "So, they're going to get the good guy. Then I'll just have to destroy them all." He then turned around. "Really." A voice said. Melissa stood behind him. "If you want them destroyed, then I can help you. I have friends. Evil, powerful friends." Darkside's mouth formed an evil grin. ~~~~~~~~~ Nicky, Aoshi, and Cozmo flew over the land on Fearow. "Woa!" Cozmo said, pointing to a shimmer. "What's that?" "Fearow, set us down." Nicky said. They landed in a clearing. "Guys!" Darren yelled, running up to them. "You're alive!" Sarah said, following him. "Yeah, we've got a situation." Nicky said. "Where's Billy?" Cozmo asked. "She's with us." Darren said. "Same with Misao and - a friend." "Fearow, Return." Nicky said. The 5 ventured into the clearing. "Cozmo!" Billy yelled, running up to him and giving him a hug. "Yo!" Misao said, following Billy. Lightside followed Misao. "It's you!" Cozmo yelled. "We've met?" Lightside asked. "I saw you when Mike was split." Cozmo said. "We're in trouble." Nicky said. "We need you guys. It's almost sunrise. Skye's going to start fighting Mr. Evil Mike." "Darkside." Lightside said, his face contorted in disgust. "Whoever." Aoshi said. "Let's go!" ~~~~~~~~~~ Sunrise. Skye and Darkside faced off at the field. "We don't have to do this." Skye said. "Oh, but we do." Darkside said, as Melissa, Matt and Daryl stepped up behind him. "Do you like my new friends? I believe you have met." "IDIOT!" Skye yelled, launching her most powerful blast. Darkside just took it, and grinned. "Too easy. Dark Side Attack!" He yelled, launching a blast of Dark power. Skye took the blast, and was blasted to the ground. "Skye!" both Jason and Matt yelled at the same time. Darkside walked over to where Skye laid. "Pathetic. I would think that you would of lasted longer." Darkside said, kicking Skye. "Get it over with." Skye said, blood leaking from her mouth. "Gladly." Darkside replied. "NO!" Matt yelled, as Daryl grabbed his arms and pulled him back. "DARK SIDE ATTACK!" Darkside yelled. Suddenly, in a blinding flash of white light, Skye was teleported out of the way and into Lightside's arms. Aoshi, Misao, Darren, Cozmo, Billy, and Sarah landed in the field. "You attack an helpless enemy?" Lightside said asked, laying Skye down. "You're even more pathetic then I thought." "Mike?" Skye asked weakly. "Not yet." Cozmo muttered. "Dark Side Attack!" "Heaven Shield!" Darkside's attack bounced off Lightside's shield. "Heaven Charge!" Lightside yelled, creating a bright glow that everybody had to shield their eyes from. "DARK SIDE ATTACK!" Darkside yelled. "LIGHT SIDE ATTACK!" Lightside replied, using the light to launch an attack at Darkside. The 2 attacks hit each other and exploded, creating a barrier around the 2 that no one could see through. "You have been returned to your place." Lightside said, as Darkside disintegrated into black dust. "And you yours." Darkside said as Lightside disintegrated. "In balance again." Were Lightside's last words, as the 2 turned into dust. Then, the dust started swirling around and around until it formed and became green. The barrier exploded, and when the others looked, Mike stood there, his eyes glowing a pine green. "Mike!" Skye yelled, as suddenly her injuries healed. Janice's eyes opened. "What happened while I was gone?" She asked. "Janice!" Jason yelled. "The links have been restored!" Misao yelled over all the commotion. Mike's eyes let out 3 tiny blasts that when in the air, snowballed into huge blasts that blasted Daryl, Melissa, and Matt away. "Looks like the Screw-Up Squad's blasting off again." Billy said. Skye ran up and wrapped her arms around Mike in a hug. "Don't ever do that again!" Mike smiled at her and put his arms around her, "I'm sorry Skye, I never ment to hurt you. It wasn't fully me. I hope you know I'd never do anything to hurt you" "Ya, but that evil was half of you" said Jason "I swear, I'll kill you if you let that evil out on Skye, or any of us for that matter" said Cozmo, glaring at Mike "Come on Cozmo, he does have his good side, it evens out" said Sarah "Let's forget it. "Ya know, you're becoming very handy" laughed Jason She then sent flames at him and rolled back and laughed. "Owww! not funny!" "Good one Nicky" laughed Misao, slapping the Charmander five Janice stood laughing as her brother tryed frantically to put out the fire on his pants. Everyone then sat down in a circle around the fire and started to talk. "Hey Cozmo, sorry about your Birthday" said Mike "Don't worry man, hey, it was the most interesting birthday I ever had. I've never fled for my life from my from my best friend's boyfriend before" laughed Cozmo "It's your birthday?" asked Billy "When did this come about?" asked Janice "Hehe, well it started about 15 years ago..." "Cozmo..." Jason rolled his eyes Billy playfully elbowed him in the side "It'll be mine tomorrow, I'll be 15" said Skye "Really? "Now don't you start" he joked Suddenly a sound was heard in the bushes. "What's that?" asked Janice "I'll check it out" said Nicky. She then stood up and walked into the bushes. When she came out, a Marowak was following behind her. "It was only this guy" "Maro-wak" It walked over and scanned the group. When it saw Cozmo it froze stiff. He observed Cozmo for a moment, and a tear of joy trickled down it's face. Cozmo looked quizzically at the Pok‚mon. He seemed to sense something familiar about it. He looked the Pok‚mon over and noticed the skull on it's head badly cracked in one area 'poor thing must have hit it's head really bad' he thought. then it hit him. "Cubone?!" The Marowak ran toward him and jumped in his lap. "I thought you died!" The others suddenly remembered Cozmo's story with the Cubone. "But I thought that was just a fake image remembrance given to Cozmo to make him weak from Daryl" said Misao "Perhaps there was some truth in the stories after all" said Jason "Then that means...my parents? Oh, I don't know what to believe anymore" said Skye "How do we know what's the truth?" asked Mike "Let's just live in the present" said Darren "No use figuring out sorrowfull pasts" "Darren's right" said Sarah "It'll only depress us" "Except in this case." said Billy seeing happy Cozmo and Marowak "That Marowak must be really strong" said Aoshi "To survive almost dying and to be strong enough to evolve on it's own in the wild without a trainer" "Good point" said Janice "Well Marowak, welcome to the team" "He'll be good to help fight and protect Mew" said Skye At the mention of Mew, Mike and Cozmo looked at each other and seemed to grow pale. "What's with you guys?" asked Darren "We totally forgot!!" exclaimed Mike "Forgot what?" asked Janice "What's going on?" asked Billy "Mew!" Cozmo and Mike said together "Ya, Mew, the little pink floating cat, we know" said Jason "What about Mew?" "Howard...he said..." Cozmo said "Calm down you two" said Misao "What did Howard say?" "Mew's in trouble" said Mike "Captured by Cyril" said Cozmo "WHAT?!" they all jumped up and looked at them. Mike and Cozmo got sweatdrops on their heads. "And you forgot?!" said Jason "How do you just forget?!" exclaimed Janice "This is just great..." sighed Darren "No break for us" "You've gotta get better on your memory skills you guys" said Aoshi "If I were Daryl where would I go?" Janice sighed. Everyone had been pondering for a good ten minutes at where Daryl could have taken Mew. So far they came up with Disney Land, a place with donuts, Radio Shack and Laser Tag. And they concluded that it was going to be harder than they thought to find him. "Wait! I bet Howard would know." Darren snapped his fingers and jumped up. "Yeah! Lets go check for rocks and washing machines. But he might be anywhere so don't forget to knock on all the trees you see." Jason quipped. "I know." Billy stood up and took a deep breathe before yelling, "HOWARD! MOOKIE! WE NEED HELP!" She then calmly sat down, "Now we wait." A moment passed then a delivery guy appeared from no where dropped a piece of folded paper then disappeared without saying a word. "Is just me or did that seem weird to anyone else?" Aoshi said glancing around the group. They all shook their heads no. "Guess it is just me." Mike raised an eyebrow then picked up the paper. He read aloud: "Be careful where you step...Signed Howard." Mike crumpled the paper and threw it behind him. Everyone sweatdropped. "You think he wants us to walk somewhere?" Misao offered. "I guess so..." Skye stood up and stretched. --Five hours later... "I can't...walk anymore...my feet died two hours back." Sarah whined. "C'mon, its not that bad, walking is good for you." Darren said. Sarah glared at him, "If my feet weren't temporarily out of order I would kick you. But you'll get yours." As soon as she finished her sentence the ground started to shake and tear apart. It just opened up swallowing everyone before closing up again and sending them falling into a black pit of nothingness. Everyone fell for a full minute before slowing to a stop and just floating in mid air. Nikki kicked her legs and scrabbled to grab something but it didn't do any good, she just stayed in place. "Is this what Howard meant by 'be careful where you step'?" she asked. "How do we get out?" Jason questioned. "Well we can't move." Cozmo said. "Maybe we wait. You think this was Daryl?" "Yeah." Mike answered. "He didn't want us to find him so he stuck us in a black hole." NO. YOU'RE HERE BECAUSE I BROUGHT YOU. They all twisted around in search of the sound. "Did anyone else..." Billy started. "Yeah we all heard it." Janice said. LISTEN. DARYL HAS HIDDEN MEW ON A PLANET IN A GALAXY CLOSE TO YOURS. "Who are you?" Mike asked. THIS ISN'T TWENTY QUESTIONS. DO YOU WANT OUT OR NOT? I CAN LEAVE YOU FLOATING BETWEEN REALMS FOR ALL ETERNITY OR I CAN BRING YOU TO DARYL AND MEW. He raised his hands, "Okay, okay, don't get snappy." "Between realms?" Billy asked. Jason tilted his head curiously, "Are you like some kind of big giant head?" "Do you see a head anywhere Jason?" Janice questioned him. He shrugged. SILENCE! I'M GETTING RID OF YOU ALL NOW. FIND MEW ON THIS PLANET. BLAH BLAH BLAH, I'M NOT GETTING INTO INSTRUCTIONS. Cozmo wanted to ask how they got back and how they find him but bit his lip. This thing, whatever it was obviously didn't like questions. He didn't want to be the one to get everyone lost in this place. JUST LISTEN. A quiet humming was heard then it grew louder. So loud they all had to cover their ears. Misao thought her ear would bleed if it got any louder, she screamed and yelled for it to stop but it just steadily screeched. Her eyes felt heavy and her mind seemed to wander and she looked around and saw her companions had drifted off into unconsciousness. She did the same. --- Mike, Cozmo, Sarah, Skye, Janice, Jason, Billy, Misao, Darren, Aoshi and Nikki all stood looking down at the black planet below them. "Well, this seems very inviting. I can see why Daryl would want to come here. I bet they throw really good parties." Cozmo said sarcastically gazing down at the dreary landscape. Tall buildings lined the empty streets. It was almost completely covered with garbage, everything was falling apart for as far as they could see. "I have to admit, it's seen better days." Skye sighed. "I doubt it." Billy muttered before picking up a rock and chucking it off the mountain they were standing on at the 'city' below. Sarah watched it sail some way out before hitting the ground and rolling, "What did you do that for?" She asked. Ignoring her she stated, "I hate this place I want to go home." "You haven't even seen it yet. Besides, we have to find Mew. We aren't going anywhere but down there until we do." Janice said. "I don't care. I'm leaving." Billy stamped her foot stubbornly and spun on her heel and started away from the group. Cozmo grabbed her arm and pulled her back but before he could say anything Aoshi started laughing very loudly. "What's so funny?" Misao asked. He didn't answer, instead he clutched his sides and fell over and laughed louder like what she had asked was the funniest thing in the world. "What's wrong with Mike?" Jason said and pointed to Mike who just standing doing nothing at all. His hands were down at his sides and he was staring off at nothing, his eyes looked glazed over. Aoshi looked thoughtful, got up and poked him then fell over laughing again. By now Billy was screaming profanities at Cozmo who started crying like a five year old and sucking his thumb. Darren swatted flies that weren't there then looked down at his hand like it was the most amazing thing in the world, told it to be quiet then glanced around nervously before swatting flies again. Janice began flapping her arms up and down in the air and yelling gibberish. Nikki, Skye, Jason, Sara and Misao looked on confused. "What's going on?" Jason asked. "No, not what's going on. What are 'they' on?" Misao said shaking her head. Cozmo screamed and stood up knocking Billy down and charged over to where Nikki, Skye, Jason, Sara and Misao where and stuck out his arm. "Is it dead?" He choked through sobs. "Your arm?" Nikki asked. He opened his hand revealing a small stone, "Will he be okay?" He covered his eyes with his free hand. "I'll show you okay!" Billy stamped over, grabbed the rock and tossed it over the edge of the mountain they were on. Cozmo watched it fall and wailed every time it bounced. "That's what you get for knocking me over!!" "Billy...uh could you calm down a tad. You're scaring him." Jason said. She immediately started crying. "I'm...so...SORRY!!!" she wailed. "Oh dear." Sara sighed. "I'm a pony! I'm a pony!" Janice pranced by. Aoshi followed laughing. Mike just drooled. Darren...he swatted more flies. ~~~~~~~ Daryl watched the events unfold, his anger building as Mike was joined again and as a mysterious power brought them to the place he had so painstakingly found to hide Mew. He slammed his fist down. "This is not happening..." he murmured to himself and rubbed his temples. "Uh...Daryl?" a meek voice, timidly asked. "WHAT?!?!" Daryl shrieked in rage. Matt winced and pondered if he should run and hide until this storm blew over, but decided against it. "All is not lost, sir. Have you forgotten why the planet you hid Mew on was so desolate? Do you remember the curse?" he asked. Daryl's features relaxed as he almost looked content. "How could I forget? I almost succumbed to it, but I received aid and returned me to my senses. With Mew captured, who will be there to save those children from the clutches of the curse?" With a new confidence, he tuned into the group to see what they were up to now. He was delighted to what he saw. "Half have fallen under the spell. It will be mere moments before the other 5 succumb as well. This is so easy. I should have just zapped them there before preceding to destroy Indigo." ~~~~~~~~ It was silent except for the faint sounds of labored breathing. The room was pitch black except for the pale blue, ethereal light that bathed a perfect crystal suspended in the middle of the room. Thick coils of intwined wires protruded from the ceiling and the floor to hold the crystal in place, and to serve another purpose. Beneath the foggy, translucent surface, a ball of psychic strong psychic power entrapped a fragile pink creature and slowly draining its life energy away, drop by drop, to be carried away by the wires. "...my friend...i ask you...help them...where i cannot...." "This isn't right. We have to get away from here," Jason said pointing to his sister who was on all fours, prancing around, "Maybe if we get them away from this forsaken place, they'll be back to normal." Jason grabbed Janice's wrist and started to pull her onto her feet, when he felt something course within him upon contact. Then, he fell on his knees and started barking. Sara, Nicky, Misao, and Skye gasped as they saw Jason, who was perfectly himself a moment ago, join his sister as they ran around, barking and neighing. "Don't touch them," Skye murmured, "Whatever it is, it's contagious." "And it turns them into a completely different person," Misao added, "Aoshi has never laughed like that before. In fact, he rarely ever laughs." Pointing to Billy who was now cursing while she shoved an unresponsive Mike, Sara said, "Billy is the nicest person I know. This is so unlike her." Suddenly, Aoshi stumbled over to Misao and in between chuckles and snickers, he managed to say, "Misao...*laugh*... I...*chuckle*...hate you." He promptly collapsed, doubling over with laughter. Misao, on the other hand, looked ready to cry. "Misao, he's not in his right mind. You just said they're opposite of what they truly are. You should be happy, this means he loves you," Skye said, trying to comfort the girl. Suddenly, Jason screamed. He clutched his head in pain and yelled until it seemed his lungs would burst. Then, as suddenly as it began, it was over and Jason stood up. "Jason?" Nicky asked. "Weird..." he murmured as he dusted himself off. "What is weird? Besides them," Skye asked. "When I went to pull Janice up, I felt something flowing in me and the next thing I know, I'm back home. Janice was there along with all my friends and family. I was so happy and carefree. I felt like I could be whatever I wanted, do whatever I wished, and I didn't have to be Jason. I could be a little kid again and just run around free of responsibilty and everything. It's a wonderful feeling." Nicky nodded. "It must be what everyone else is going through. They're living as a completely different person." "But why don't they just come back like you did, Jason?" Misao asked. "That's the strangest thing. Janice doesn't remember. I asked her where you all were and she told me she has no idea what I was talking about. I wouldn't be surprised if the others don't remember too." "Then how did you come back?" "After I started to talk to Janice and tell her of Mew, Daryl, and everyone, she seemed to start to remember. I was going to tell her more, when I heard an angry voice say, 'You remember. You don't belong here.' The next thing I know, I feel like I'm being torn apart and suddenly, I'm back." "Then we must find a way to go to in like Jason did and bring them back before we are sent back," Skye declared, "Surprise, surprise, we've been cut off by our psychic links again." The other four nodded. Jason went back to Janice, Misao to Aoshi, Sara to Billy, Nicky to Cozmo, and Skye to Mike. "See you guys soon, but not as myself!" Skye yelled and put her arms around Mike in a hug. Immediately, she felt what Jason had described and soon found herself in a cozy home in Pallet, Mike's home. Skye found herself sitting on a cozy couch in Mike's living room, "I wonder where Mike is, I guess I should start looking." Skye heard the sounds of laughing and playing outside; she got off the chair and went out to investigate. "Catch me if you can!" Mike yelled as he roller bladed up the street at top speed. A whole pack of kids chased after him on bikes, skateboards, and roller blades. "How will I ever catch them?" Skye asked herself, and then she fell. "W-what happened? How'd I end up with roller blades? Oh well." Skye sped up the street after Mike; she finally caught up when everyone was sitting in the street, "Mike! We need to talk!" Everyone looked at her, "Who's the new girl?" someone asked. "I've never met her before." Mike said as he skated toward Skye, "Hi I'm Mike. What's your name?" "You don't remember me? I'm Skye, Skye Stargazer." "Did I meet you somewhere? Perhaps the Pokemon League?" "No, you met me on an island, and we had to save an island of pokemon from a giant Mewtwo, Mewgi. There were other kids too, Cozmo, Jason, Janice, Darren, Aoshi, Misao, Billy, and Sarah." Mike stared at Skye with confusion in his eyes, "I don't know what you're saying, Skye, I don't have the slightest memory of these people." Skye felt a sharp pain in her head, "Mike please try to remember! Just think." "Maybe I'll remember later, why don't you come and hang out with us." Skye started to follow, but the pain sharpened and she fell to her knees in pain, "No not now! Not now! Please." She thought. "You don't belong here." Skye started to scream, and then she found herself in space, but she could breathe. "It's okay Skye," a woman said, "Your safe with me." "Karen?" "Yes it's me Skye, a few minutes later and you would have been in real trouble." "What about Mike?" "You can't save him like that Skye." "Well how can I?" "Hold on a minute." Karen made her eyes glow purple and in a flash Jason, Sarah, Misao, and Nicky appeared. "Mom!" Jason exclaimed. "We're in Space!" Sarah followed, "And we can breathe!" "Karen, I need to go back and save Aoshi, and Darren too," said Misao. "None of them can be saved this way. You see, Mike, Cozmo, Janice, Darren, Billy, and Aoshi are currently living a false reality, what it would be like if they never ended up on that island. They're with family and friends, just having a good time. This time won't last long; if they're not saved they may die. Daryl, Matt, or Melissa might kill them." Karen said. "Is there a way to get them back?" Nicky asked. "Mew is the only way," Karen began, "Once you find him, he'll explain from there." "Okay, but where do we start first?" Jason asked. Karen closed her eyes; "I'll take you to your starting point." A minute later the group appeared back on the dark planet, just under the cliff where their ultra delusional friends were awaiting rescue....I think. "Okay, your search starts here," Karen said, "It won't rely heavily on psychic power. It's a test of your physical strength, intellect, and Pokemon training skills. Skye, Blackie can protect all of you from that spell, and Jason, Espeon will help guide you to Mew. Sarah, Mew is being protected by computers, that are your point of expertise. Misao, you'll need to supply the group with plans of trickery and cunning. And Nicky, come with me, you're goning to help me with a certain task and then we're paying Daryl a visit. Any questions?" Nicky asked as Karen led her into a cave. Karen took out a medium sized diamond-like stone that was glowing with white light, "Daryl's pure side is encased withing this stone, I need your help to find the five keys that unlock it. Once we do, Daryl is going to be the person I once knew, a good person. With Daryl back on our side we have a beter chance at destroying Cyril for good." Nicky's face lit up, "Does Melissa have a stone like this too?" "Probably, maybe we'll find it, let's go." Nicky happily followed Karen further into the cave, the thoughts of bringing her sister back made her feel better then she had been for the last few years. ~~~~~~~~~~ "So, where do we go?" "Articuno?" Sarah replied. In a minute, the 4 were flying down the mountain. "This is easy." Skye said, relaxing. "Almost too easy." Jason said. "Yeah." Misao replied. "Guys, I have a bad feeling about this." "Okay, Princess Leia." Jason joked. "Ask C-3PO what the odds of dying right now are." "Not funny." Misao said. "GET OFF!" She shoved Skye, Jason, and Sarah off before jumping off herself. "Articuno! Return!" Sarah yelled, pulling Articuno back into it's Pok‚-Ball just before a huge amount of electricity hit where Articuno was. Skye, Misao, and Sarah landed on the ground with their feet on the ground, Skye holding Blackie. Sarah reached out and caught Jason's Espeon. Misao opened her arms and Jason fell in. "Shhh. Don't tell Aoshi." Jason said. "You know how jealous he is." Misao laughed and set Jason down. "Thanks." Jason said. "Sure. Just don't tell that joke again." "Whatever." Jason said. "Espeon. Which way?" Espeon pointed to the abandoned city. "So, they're going that way." Matt said, with his feet against Daryl's computer. "Hmmm. I think it's time that some friends of mine helped." Jason, Skye, Misao, and Sarah walked through the city. "Have I told you guys that this is, on a scale of 1 to 10 in my creepazoid scale, about a thousand? Janice's acting like a horse," "Mike's staring into space," "Aoshi thinks everything's funny and Darren's examining his hand," "Billy's in an ultra rage mode and Cozmo's a crybaby." Suddenly, to their surprise, a Machamp, Scyther, Pidgeot, and a Dugtrio appeared. Skye, Jason, and Misao started glowing with psychic energy, then Sarah stopped them. "Guys, Karen said we don't need psychic powers. Use your Pok‚mon." "Oh. yeah." "Bulbasaur!" Skye yelled. "Electrabuzz!" Jason yelled. "Gengar!" Misao yelled. "Dewgong!" Sarah yelled. Bulbasaur faced off Scyther. "Bulbasaur! Solar Beam!" Scyther flew out of the way. Electrabuzz tried it's luck against Pidgeot. "Electrabuzz! Thunder!" Pidgeot used Agility and flew out of the way. Gengar bounced towards Machamp. "Gengar! Night Shade!" Machamp ducked under the attack. Dewgong centered at Dugtrio. "Dewgong! Aurora Beam!" Dugtrio popped back into it's hole. "This isn't helping." Skye said. "Teamwork!" Jason yelled. "We have to work togther!" The others realized what he was saying, and they all faced the Pok‚mon. "Bulbasaur! Razor Leaf!" "Electrabuzz! Thunder Shock!" Electrabuzz friend the leaves so when they hit Scyther, it was hit with heat, which started Scyther burning. "Gengar! Teleport!" "Dewgong! Water Gun!" Gengar teleported Dewgong into Dugtrio's hole, then Dewgong filled it up with water, fainting Dugtrio. "Bulbasaur! Vine Whip!" "Electrabuzz! Thunder Bolt!" Bulbasaur threw Electrabuzz onto Pidgeot, and Electrabuzz fried it. "Dewgong! Flash!" "Gengar! Lick!" Dewgong let out a flash that blinded Machamp, and Gengar licked it, causing it to faint. "YES!" all 4 yelled, as they called their 4 Pok‚mon back. "Good job, guys." Skye said. "Now, let's find Mew!" "Damn!" Matt yelled as he watched the results on the computer screen. "I guess I'll have to go to plan 2, then!" Espeon had led them into a building that, on the outside, was the same as any of the ruined buildings on the black planet, but inside, held a elaborate computer system containing Mew. "Mew!" Misao yelled. Mew slowly turned it's head. "Skye... Jason... Misao... Sarah... help..." Sarah sat down to the control, with was a PC. "Daryl's pretty stupid." Jason said. "Using Windows? The system would crash in seconds?" "It's Windows 2000." Sarah said. "For all your Spirit-Killing-Office needs." Jason muttered. Sarah slipped out a floppy disk, and inserted it into the comp. A minute later, the whole thing just exploded, and Mew escaped. "Sarah, what did you do?" Skye asked. "A custom-built program I designed." Sarah replied. "It asks the computer which came first: the chicken or the egg." "An... unsolvable problem..." Mew said. "Good thing it wasn't an iMac." Misao said. "They don't have floppy drives." "Mew!" Skye yelled. "Can you heal the others?" "Not... in my condition..." Mew said. "But I can... call on my friend..." Mew glowed with more pink power, and in a minute, a oven came crashing through the roof. "3 guesses who that is." Jason muttered. The oven door opened, and Howard jumped out. "What, no washing machine?" Jason asked. "It's in the shop." Howard replied. "Howard!" Skye said. "Can you heal the others?" "I can't." Howard said. "But I brought somebody who can." Mookie jumped out of the washing machine. "Mookie?" Misao asked. "No, not Mookie," Howard said. "Mookie's Invisible friend, Fred." Jason raised his eyebrow. "Fred?" "Yes, Fred." Howard replied. "Fred. Can you help, now?" Nothing was heard, but a energy flew through all of them, carrying the memories of Mike, Cozmo, Aoshi, Billy, Darren, and Janice. Mike was roller-blading when the memories back, and was pulled in an instant. Cozmo and Marowak were playing catch with Marowak's bone, and then he was hit. Aoshi was with his long-dead family, having a tea party, when they hit. Billy was with her mother preparing a meal for Mother's Day when she was hit. Darren was flying with his Articuno when it hit him. Janice was running the Saffron Gym and then, like the others, she was hit. "They are okay." Howard said, and then he, Mookie, Mew, and the invisible Fred jumped, or on Mew's case, floated, back into the oven, and it took off. Skye, Jason, and Misao combined their powers, and then teleported and left the building barren once again. "Guys!" Skye yelled, as the 4 teleported back onto the mountain. She was immeaditly caught up in Mike's embrace, as the others met up. "What happened to Nicky?" Darren asked. "She's on her own quest." Sarah replied. "Oh, and you're any better." "A lot better!" "I seem to remember just sailing to Mewgi's island on some broken down old boats, and then getting attacked by 3 giant Gyrados." "I seem to remember coming to this charcoal heap and getting zapped by some weird curse." "Was it my fault that we fell in a hole?" "Maybe if we hadn't been running from Insane Evil Mike!" Mike pulled back. Everything Cozmo said was true. He had led the group into all this. And his Dark Side had tried to kill them all. His defenses were wearing down. "It was you, or at least part of you, that tried to kill us all, including Skye!" Mike winced. Major hit. His defenses were waring down. One last chance, It might get everybody, especially, Skye and Billy, pissed off at him, but it definitely would shut Cozmo up. For a few seconds. Mike jumped onto Cozmo's head, using his psychic powers to stay in place. "You, know, Cozmo, it occurs to me that I kissed Billy before you did." Cozmo glared at him. Billy glared at him more. "You JERK!" Skye yelled. "Why did you bring that up again?" Mike sighed inwardly. He had no choice. He had expected that outburst from Skye, but the next one stunned him, Cozmo, and Billy. "You always loved her!" She said, pointing to Billy. "Skye..." Cozmo said. "Go away!" She yelled, in tears. She then jumped down the side of the mountain and away from view. "And another point for Matt." Matt chuckled. "I'm glad I modified the black planet's curse just for Skye. Time for her savior, as in I mean me, to come." He walked out of the room. "I've gotta go after her." Mike said breathlessly. "You're not going anywhere." Cozmo said. Mike jumped off Cozmo's head. "But she's my-" The 2 had already had this argument. (Multi 33) "And she's my beast friend! You've hurt her enough, Mike, she needs a friend n-" Cozmo's words were cut short as Mike grabbed his collar and pulled him forward, face to face. Mike's eyes were glowing a dangerous green and his words had taken a dangerous edge. "We tried it your way before. It didn't work out." Mike started to jump down the mountain. "Wait!" Billy yelled. "I'm going. You might need me to convince Skye." Mike smiled. "Cozmo, you're in charge." Cozmo raised his eyebrow. "Don't get them killed." The 2 started down the mountain. Daryl walked into the room. "Where's Matt. He was supposed to be observing!" He then looked at the situation monitor. "Hello, we have an opportunity!" He called up Melissa. "Melissa. I need you to take a break in destroying cities," Melissa looked disappointed. "Mike's left the main group. It's the perfect time to strike!" Melissa's frown turned to an evil grin. "You know you're targets. Daryl Out." He shut off the comlink. "Karen, your twins will never be safe. And, I think It's time for a father-son bonding time..." ~~~~~~~~~ "So," Nicky asked. "Where do we start looking for the keys?" "Daryl's home." Karen replied. ~~~~~~~~~ "Mike, you had better get her back alive!" Cozmo yelled off the side of the mountain. "Cozmo, he's been gone for 30 minutes." Jason said. "So?" Cozmo asked. "Just because Mike's off with your girlfriend and your best friend doesn't mean you get to monitor his every move." "Mike got us into this mess, and he'll get us out. WITHOUT getting us into more crap." "Come on, just sit down. Janice's managed to start a fire." "Okay," Cozmo sighed. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Mike was skidding down the mountain. Billy was following shortly. "So, what's the plan?" Billy asked. "I don't know." Mike replied. "But we have to find Skye!" "Mike-" Mike turned on her, expression hard. "I got her into this situation, And I owe it to her to get her out of it." "Mike, it's getting late." Billy replied. "We should set up camp." "Okay." Mike replied. ~~~~~~~~~~~ "Skye?" Matt asked. It was darkness, and he was outside. "Matt?" A shaky voice called out. Suddenly, Skye saw in front of him. "Matt..." Skye began to cry. Matt reached out, and hugged Skye. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I hope Mike and Billy are okay." Darren said, as the 7 were sitting around the fire. "And Skye." Misao added. "It's all my fault." She started crying. "I created Matt. I should be out there, looking for Matt." "Misao, it's not your fault. It's Mewgi's." Aoshi said, comforting her. "I was the one who got the blood." Misao replied. "Don't worry." Aoshi said. "We'll get them back." "No you will not." Daryl said suddenly. "Daryl!" Jason yelled. "And Melissa!" Janice repeated. "Gee, you're so observant." Melissa said, rolling her eyes. "And now, Daryl Storm and Melissa Randall will destroy you!" Daryl gloated. "Daryl Storm?" Cozmo yelled. "That's right, son." Daryl sneered. "You won't destroy us, Daryl! Charizard!" Jason yelled. "Blastoise!" Janice yelled. "Scyther!" Aoshi yelled. "Gengar!" Misao yelled. "Articuno!" Darren yelled. "Lapras!" Sarah yelled. "Black Energy Spire!" Daryl yelled, and Blastoise and Charizard were knocked back. "Cozmo!" Jason yelled. "You've got to help!" "I- I- I Can't." Cozmo studdered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "So, what do you want to talk about?" Billy asked. "I don't know." Mike replied. The 2 were sitting in front of the fire Mike had made with Rapidash. "There's the Forbidden Subject,-" "The kiss?" "Bingo." Mike laughed. "I don't even know why it happened." Billy muttered. "We couldn't control it." Mike replied. "Besides, I know you like Cozmo, why, I don't know why." "Come on. We've got to find Skye." Mike said. "Mike, It's to late." Billy replied. "It's my fault, and I'm going to fix it!" "You know, you're right. It is your fault. And you need punishment." Billy gave an evil smirk. "Uh-Oh." Mike muttered. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Cozmo, you have to help!" Aoshi yelled. "I can't!" Cozmo yelled. "I can't attack my father!" "Jason! Janice" Misao yelled. "Maybe we can link our powers togther to maybe - fling them away!" "Good idea!" Janice yelled. "We'll protect you." Aoshi said. "Right!" Darren and Sara yelled. "Lapras! Blizzard!" "Articuno! Ice Beam!" The 2 Ice Attacks formed to create an Ice wall. Melissa morphed into a Charizard to melt the Ice. "Not so easy, Lapras, Hydro Pump!" Lapras made Melissa/Charizard faint. Jason, Misao, and Janice were busy combining their powers to create a Gold Tornado that blew Daryl and the fainted Melissa away. "Yes!" Darren yelled. "You see Cozmo," Misao said, smirking. "We don't need-" But Cozmo was gone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY HAIR!" Mike screamed. "Improved it. Starmie, Return." Billy replied. Billy's 'revenge' was to use her Starmie's Swift Attack to cut Mike's hair to about the size of Heero and Quatre's hair. "YOU CUT MY HAIR!" Mike shrilled. "I think we've established that fact." Billy replied. "You can be so immature." Mike said. "Immature? Who's the one who's been screaming about his hair?" "Who's the one who cut the hair?" Mike asked. "Who's the one who got us in this situation?" Billy asked. "Who was the one who got her tail stomped on?" (Multi 31) "Who was the one-?" Suddenly, Mike and Billy kissed. They stopped, looked at each other, and said, "We are soooo dead." ~~~~~~~~~~~~ The new day had started. Matt looked up at the sky. The sun was out, and Skye was still sleeping in the sleeping bag Matt had provided. Then Matt looked up at a portion of the sky. It looked a little green... WHAM! Mike's psychic attack hit Matt square in the face, and he had to double back. "Look out!" Mike yelled. "Little too late." Matt said, wiping the blood off his lip. "You've outgrown your usefulness, Mike, prepare to die." "I've been preparing for that moment a long time now. And you aren't the one who will cause it. Hand of Destiny!" Matt was blasted back once again. "Owww! Psyblast!" Mike jumped up onto a tree branch, avoiding the attack. "Now!" Mike yelled. Billy ran up to the sleeping Skye, shaking her awake. "Skye!" She yelled. Skye opened her eyes, and as they glowed blue, she blasted Billy into a tree. "Skye!" Mike yelled. "You will be destroyed." Skye said, rising up to face Mike. "Uh-Oh..." Karen and Nicky stepped out of the time portal, into present day Saffron City. Nicky looked around, Saffron didn't look this way before she went into the past, it was in ruins. "What happened here?" Nicky asked. "Melissa." Karen replied softly, "Come on let's go, we've got lots of work to do." They walked down the ruined street, tears streamed down Karen's face as she saw what her home had been reduced to. After a few minutes Nicky and Karen finally reached their destination, Daryl's old house, it had been abandoned for years after Daryl and his family had disappeared. "Is this the first place we look?" Nicky asked. "Sure is." Karen answered as she struggled with the door, "Dang, it's jammed. Stand back." Nicky stepped away from the door as Karen blew the lock off with a small psybeam, she pushed the door open, "Shall we proceed?" "Do we have a choice?" Nicky joked. ------------------ Somewhere back on that planet Darren pulled Articuno back into it's poke-ball, "Now what?" he asked. "You're the genius, figure it out." Janice sighed. "Janice, that wasn't very nice." Misao said. "Nice? I don't want to be nice, Misao! I don't even want to be here! I hate this whole thing!" She picked up her backpack and ran into the dark forest. "What's with her?" Aoshi asked. "Is it that spell again?" Sarah followed. "No, she's just aggravated," Jason replied, "Don't worry, she'll cool down and come back." "Okay," Darren said, "Back to my original question. Now what?" Sarah pulled a small computer out of her bag, (A.N. It's like Sailor Mercury's mini computer.) "I'll just send a message to Karen and maybe she can come back and help us." "Or we could call Mew, Howard, and Mookie." Misao suggested. "Ohhh no, last time we did that we ended up here." Aoshi put his hand on Misao's forehead, "You've been on this planet way too long." Sarah closed the mini computer, "There. I sent the message to Karen, all we can do is wait." "I still think we should call Mew, Howard, and Mookie." Misao followed. Everyone sighed. ------------------ At at the place where the evil people hang out Cozmo sat in a swivel chair in some sort of a control room, he wasn't locked up, or confined, he was pretty much free to walk around, but Cozmo was too tense to move. He was still saying "Daryl's my father?" over and over in his head. Cozmo read the inscription on his Poke-ball belt, "D. Storm," he said, "Daryl Storm." The redhead's train of thought was interrupted by voices outside the door, it was Daryl and Melissa, Cozmo listened quietly. "What are you going to do with the boy?" Melissa asked. "That boy's name is Cozmo, and I don't know what I'm going to do with him. I should have left him with his friends." Daryl replied. "Make him join us." "No. I can't do that to him." "You're not going goody-goody on us are you? You can bring Cozmo to our side." "Melissa, drop the subject. I have a task for you, Janice has wandered from the group, I need you to capture her and bring her back with you. That's the only way I'll get Karen here." "Are you going to try and kill them again?" "No, Cyril wants Karen, and this is the only way to get her." "But my powers are nothing compared to Janice's." "Don't worry, she's not with Jason or the others, and she's pretty depressed right now." Melissa saluted, "Yes sir! I'm on it!" Daryl sighed and looked through the window into the control room, when he saw Cozmo his eyes changed, they went from that eerie green to a soft blue. "Come on Karen, hurry up and find those keys." Daryl thought, but just as he turned from the window, his eyes turned green again. ------------------ At Daryl's house Nicky looked around, "Karen, we've scoured the whole house and we haven't found anything yet. What are we going to do?" "Yes! I remember now!" Karen exclaimed. "Remember what?" "Where Daryl and I used to keep our stuff." Karen grabbed Nicky's hand, "It's in the basement." Karen removed two bricks from the wall in the basement, she reached in the hole, "Look, it's all here, all the stuff from when we were kids. Our songs, poems..." "And Algebra homework?" Nicky added as she looked at one of the papers. "Hmm...no wonder we didn't have our homework that day." A small white light started to shine from the crevice, Nicky's eyes opened wide and she reached in toward it, "Karen, I think I've got it!" Nicky pulled her hand back out, and in her palm was a small platinum key with a star on it. "Yeah, that's the first key," Karen took the key from Nicky, "We're one step closer to our goal, getting my best friend back." (Jaden stops here and Andy starts.) ~~~~~~~~~~ Mike leapt off the tree he was standing on. "Well, Mikey boy, it's your play." Matt laughed. "Fine with me!" Mike yelled. "Psychic Fire Inferno!" Green fire started to swirl around Mike. He cupped it into his hands and he sent it flying towards Matt. Then, Skye jumped in and took the blast for Matt. "Huh?" Mike asked. "Looks like we'll Double Team you." Skye laughed, launching a blast. Mike took to the air, jumping above Skye's blast. "I won't fight you." He said. "Then you die." Skye replied. Mike took blasts from both Skye and Matt, than hit Matt with a Hand of Destiny. "Skye, this is all my fault." Mike said, trying to reason with her. "I was the one who caused this problem, let me solve it." "Solve? You didn't solve anything last time!" Mike released his Psy-Sword, and losing all sense of reason, charged towards Matt, slashing like mad. Matt dodged easily and had to swerve to avoid hitting Skye. In the process, he dropped the Psy- Sword and slammed against the tree, hitting onto the ground. Skye stood over him, powering up a psychic blast. "I'll solve this..." Mike grabbed her leg... Mike was swirling around, he was going into Skye's thoughts. Suddenly the swirling stopped, and Mike saw... "Skye." Mike said. Skye was standing there, watching images of her parent's deaths. "No one loves me..." Skye cried. "Skye..." Mike said. "Cozmo loves you. He cared for you for 2 years." "But he's gone... I'm all alone..." Skye sniffled. "We have each other." Mike said. He started glowing with green power, and the memories started to swirl into Skye. *Flashbacks* Skye sat up, she had tear stained eyes. "How long have you been seeing this girl? I now know where you went every night. I can't believe you led me on to believing you liked me" Mike looked nervous, he hadn't known see knew he was with Misty earlier when he was in the woods. "Her name is Misty, I've known her since before I came here. But you've misunderstood, I only found her here today. I swear, every night I just snuck out to practice. I really do like you, I wasn't leading you on." "Look me in the eyes and say that" Mike took her hands and pulled her up so she was standing. He then looked into her eyes, he leaned in and wrapped his arms around her. Soon, there lips met. ~~~~~~~~~ "Looks like we won't have to go back for you after all, you came to us" "Skye, you can't just turn on us like this. This is my fault, and I need to fix it, fix us" "Fix what? I've fixed everything, nothing was right until now." "You aren't normal now, you're being controlled. You have to fight it." Mike looked into her eye's and saw nothing, she had very little emotion, and what she did have was hatred. 'this isn't going to work, I'll have to try something else' he thought. He then closed his eyes and concentrated hard. He started to glow green as he focused energy toward Skye. Skye stared at Mike. 'He must be focusing his energy for an attack, well, I'll show him!' she thought. she closed her eyes and started to build up energy. but suddenly something happened, something hit her. Her eyes shot open. Her blue energy wasn't there, but instead it was green. Memories started to seep back into her head, she felt the hatred and evil start to fade. She tried to bring it back, but soon it couldn't be fought and it was all gone. Mike opened his eyes and the green energy vanished. Skye looked at him and smiled. "Thank you Mike, I...I don't know what came over me. But then again, you would probably do anything for a friend." "Yes I would, but we're not just friends". He leaned down and gave her a kiss. She wrapped her arms around him and they stood like that for about a minute. ~~~~~~~~~~ "I don't want to leave you Skye" said Mike, looking into her eyes. "Neither do I" Skye said, holding back tears. "I would have rather been destroyed by Mewgi than to leave you" "Don't say that. We'll meet again, I can feel it in my heart" "I hope so Mike. It's just that-" Mike cut her off by giving her a kiss. Skye then joined and soon they were locked in a passionate kiss, and neither one wanted to break from it. ~~~~~~~~~~~ (Flashbacks over!) Skye and Mike kissed, and that everything flashed back to the battle. Skye kicked Mike over to Matt. "You're the one who wanted to destroy him so badly." Matt laughed and pulled out his red blade, ready to finish what he had started. He started to lower the blade. "Catch!" Skye yelled, flinging a blast towards Matt, knocking him into a tree. "Skye! You double-crossed me!" "Triple-Crossed." Mike replied, standing up. "Than I'll have to destroy both of you! Psychic Fire Inferno!" Matt's red fire started to light as he aimed it towards Mike and Skye. "Togther at the end." He laughed, and prepared to launched. Suddenly, Billy jumped and slashed him in the back with Mike's Psy-Sword. "Not today! Pidgeot, Let's Go!" Mike yelled. Mike's Giant Pidgeot appeared and Mike, Skye and Billy jumped onto it. Matt cursed as the 3 flew away. ~~~~~~~~~ "I hate this place." Janice muttered. "I want to go home. But stupid Daryl and stupid Melissa are screwing everything up so even If I do go home, I'll have to spend more time with the others, almost getting killed." "Life's just to rough." A voice said, and Melissa walked out of the shadows of approaching night. "Melissa!" Janice yelled, her eyes gaining the orange glow. "Gee, you're psychic." Melissa rolled her eyes and delivering a kick to Janice's jaw, knocking her unconscious. Melissa then picked her up and started to drag her away. "You could stand to lose a few pounds, too." ~~~~~~~~~ "It's Mike and Billy!" Darren yelled, as Pidgeot made it's descent. "I didn't know Mike's Pidgeotto evolved." Misao commented. "That thing is huge." Aoshi whistled. "This means that Giant Pok‚mon evolve into Evolved Giant Pok‚mon instead of reverting back to their normal size." Sarah mused. "We're back!" Skye yelled, as she, Mike, and Billy jumped down from Pidgeot's back and Mike recalled it. "Missed you guys. What happened to Mike's hair?" Darren asked. Mike glared while Billy broke out laughing. "It's new *he* wave, *hah* Darren." "I think it's cute." Skye said, as Jason walked up. "Mike, did you see Janice at all?" "No, Is something wrong?" Misao answered Mike's question. "Yeah, Janice ran off. We're worried because it's getting dark and Melissa and Daryl might come out again." "Speaking of people missing, where's Cozmo?" Billy asked. "Long story." Aoshi muttered. "We should split up. Jason, you, Skye, Billy, Darren, and Sarah should start searching for Janice. Take Skye's Charizard. Mike, Misao, and I will start looking for Matt." Mike sighed. "And we just got back togther. Pidgeot, Time to go!" "Charizard, Go!" Skye yelled. The 2 Giant Pok‚mon flew off in the opposite direction both looking for a separate query. ~~~~~~~~~ Melissa dragged Janice along the ground. "Next time I'm making her march." She muttered. "Hey, Melissa!" Matt called out. "Matt!" Melissa yelled. "What the heck have you been doing?" Matt ran up to where Melissa stood. "Nothing much." "Well, now you can help me take Janice back to Daryl. Take a leg." Matt stared at the job in front of him. "We have to drag her back to Daryl?" He asked. "Yes. It's a long walk, so I'd appreciate your help. Daryl already has Cozmo, and with Janice, our plans will succeed extra fast." "Daryl has Cozmo? So, maybe I can snatch victory after all..." Matt trailed off. "What are you talking about?" Melissa asked. "Nothing. Why did you knock her unconscious? That was pretty stupid." "Shut up, Matt."
