Okay basic story line...first series I ever did this for, but the fandom for this one is so tiny I need too.
The name of the story is Darkside Blues....which also happens to be the name of the city the story takes place in, as well as the guy in the picture above.
Now what's going on is the future world is ruled by a corporation named Persona. They literally bought over 90 percent of the world...in fact they own everything but the city Kabuki-co Shinjuku (aka Darkside of Tokyo), there are of course people who realize the corporation is a heartless cruel organization...and they seek to change things.
*cough*
Um they fail, out of a team of eight six are killed, one is captured and tortured, and the last got away...-_-; Enter the worlds only hope, a mysterious (understatement) young man with a horse drawn carriage...appears from a hole in the ground with powers that frighten even the corporation.
It isn't said exactly what his powers are, but they were apparently so powerful Persona felt the need to lock him in another dimesion for 18 years...by himself... where he'd have plenty of time to build and perfect the power they were so afraid of in the first place.
Anyway they decided to send an 'agent' with powers similiar to Darksides to destroy him...just go rent the damn movie from Hollywood video! It's very interesting...but a little abrupt at the end. ( Or at least it seems that way the first time you see it.)
I've seen this sucker in both Japanese and English, it's worth the 1.99 to rent it I think.
However I should warn you. I like the character Darkside...many don't think he adds much to the anime. As a friend put it.
" Baggage. Absolutely no use to the anime!"
But there isn't much I'm going to say about it...not much I can say without spoiling. So if you see it, e-mail me with questions...and I'll try to answer!

Persona
Lando Hazuki- The owner of Persona Corportation. You don't even see his face in the damn thing.
Guren Hazuki- Lando's son, he seems to be a little on the frosty side...not alot is said about him, but whenever he goes in public he wears this heavy bronze mask shaped like a man's face.
Tamaki Hazuki- A.K.A Ms. Strangler A.K.A. Bitch. That about covers it, she's Lando's daughter. Other words that would describe her are psycho, sadistic, cruel, and annoying. Matter of fact, her first scene on the show is her torturing the living crap out of someone. -_-;
Ben- Weird little mutant killer guy that's trying to round up the only escaped 'terrorist'.
Enji- Weird dress sense, extremely carefree everything is a game to him. He is however very powerful... and highly under used in the anime *sniff*. Not to mention his strange chemistry with Darkside.
Messiah
Mai- I think she looks like Relena's evil clone. But that is where the similiarities with her annoyingness ends. Mai is the leader of a gang known as Messiah...don't know what they do really, but she's pretty famous around town, and rightfully so. ^_~
Kenzo- Big guy, dumb looking, but an amazing engineer...also hopelessly gone over for Mai. Hey you gotta respect a guy that made a missle launcher out of cardboard and ducktape, then the actual missle itself out of tin -_-; scary thing is it worked!
Chris- A.K.A. Chris the knife. What to say about this guy other than...he da man! Looks like a sick cross between one of the back street boys and Shaggy from Scooby Doo. But anyone that can deflect two mini missles with nothing but an army knife and STILL not drop his cigarette is worthy of respect.
Jingo- Jingo is just kinda there...he doesn't really do anything.
Freedom fighters/ Anti-Persona
Tatsuya- The lone survivor of the attack against Persona's main base....he ends up in the 'Freezone' somehow, and gets Messiah involved in the rebellion. -_-; sorta...I actually felt bad for this guy at the end of the movie. Even if he did have the annoying habit of throwing cups arounds.
Others
Darkside- A.K.A. Mirror of Arvis. Hell if I know what that means A.K.A. Really freakin' depressing. Having been locked away by Persona at the age of 3 years old, Darkside didn't have much (any) human contact. Not much else is known about him, other than that. He took his name from the city (Kabuki-co Shinjuku no clue what that means either, but Mai added Darkside of Tokyo after introductions.)
Selia- A nurse that was dismissed from duty after her family was killed by Persona...because her father was a little too vocal in his support of the AP (Anti Persona). She survived the attack on her family, simply because she wasn't home at the time. Anyway she keeps her father's assualt rifle as a reminder of her family. Though she is very gentle, she can also be a real Ramboette when you push her.
Granny- An old lady that sits out in front of the hotel Darkside lives in...she gives advice and seems to be the only person Darkside is even vagely nice too. -_-;
Katari- Creepy little kid who doesn't talk much, but seems to be very powerful...or potentially very powerful. He actually was the one, who went after Darkside in the first place, and brought him back to their world.
Mr. Deliruim: Drunk old blues singer that hangs around town. I like him!

Enji: I hoped we could make more of a game of this before coming to a head. But I've got instructions from heaven. I've pretty well fallen for you, you know. But we've got to prune a poisonious weed before it grows. So it seems. Let's go.
Darkside: This darkness was crafted by Persona. Now something new is trying to be born of it.
