Here are some pictures of my friends.

Updated 2-5-01
If you've been to other parts of my site, you've probably learned to expect the little disclaimer at the top. As I try not to disappoint... :)
Most of the pictures here are from last year, and are taken in my dorm room, with a few exceptions. It's really hard to make a "friends page", especially since people tend to get left out, or wondering why the hell I have a picture of them up on my website when they couldn't even tell you who I was. Since I really only have people listed of whom I have pictures, that doesn't help things, since I don't have pictures of even some of my best friends (go figure). I'll try to keep working on this, and keep you all posted. Look for updates in my dailies section.

Fellow U-of-I-ers

I'm just going to give you a short note about how the living arrangements have been at this school the past few years, because in writing descriptions of these guys, I find that I'm using a lot of room to explain where they've lived, since you can usually tell more about how well people know each other if you know that they've lived together or something. It's also an interesting little six degrees of separation thing i guess. Here goes...

Freshman Year (Fall 1999/Spring 2000)

In the fall semester, I lived on the first floor of Carr Hall in PAR in a room with Nick Keating, and next door to Tom Lacas and Bill Gabriel. John Cromley lived a few doors further down with Chris Trujillo, and Matt Cheney lived at the other end of the hall, next door to Wojciech Jarosz. Across the hall from me lived Joe Sronce, and down the hall from Joe lived Corey Zeller. José lived on our floor too. Neal Edwards and Ben Cohen lived two floors up from us, and Paolo Segre, Adam Klinkner and Darren Randolph lived across the street.
In the spring semester, I ended up living in a room on the complete opposite corner of our floor living with Wojciech. Joe also got a new roommate, Yegappan "Mani" Muthappen. Ben Cohen ended up withdrawing from the university, and lived at home in glenview, and I think he lived at some point in the Sigma Tau Gamma frat house, where he pledged fall semester along with Paolo (who he had incidentally been best friends with for years, losing contact and then randomly running into each other here). Incidentally, I too ended up pledging the house spring semester, but I didn't go through with it because of costs and also doubts about the type of commitment i wanted to give to the organization.

Sophomore Year (Fall 2000/Spring 2001)

I ended up living in an apartment waay far away from anywhere that I would ever need to go. I was/am sharing an apartment with Wojo once again. Matt and Tom live together next door, and Corey lives on the other next door. Bill and Neal stayed at PAR, and Adam and Darren stayed across the street from there in FAR. John moved to Newman Hall, the catholic dorm, which made it a lot easier on him to get to class since he lives about a mile closer to the quad than we do. Mani moved to an apartment behind Legends, Joe Sronce moved to an apartment by the video store on Lincoln, and Paolo moved into the SigTau house.

Junior Year (Fall 2001/Spring 2002)

We'll see how things turn out eventually. Right now, I've signed a lease to live in an apartment building a block away from this one with Wojo and Tom; Matt and Corey are going to be next door again, living with Josh, Matt's friend from high school. John'll be in Newman again (lucky bastard), Paolo'll probably be at the house again, and I've heard word that Ben Cohen's returning.

So, I hope that was a little helpful. Now, I just have to reedit everyone's bio info...

    This is my roommate Wojciech

His name's pronounced "voytek". Other variations include "wojo", and, in mikey chiau's case, "voytee".
He graduated from high school in three years, so he's a little younger than most people "his age", but then so am I. When I figure out what else to say about him, I'll let you know. You can go to his website to learn more about him.

    Matt With the Hat

This is my friend Matt Cheney. He is a fairly intelligent dude, albeit argumentative. I gave him the name "matt with the hat" name because of the hat that he always wears; we used it to distinguish him from another Matt who was on our floor freshman year, but i don't really call him that anymore. These pics were taken in my room (spring 00), and in one of them, you can see Kelly, Wojo's girlfriend, hiding in the closet. We had to keep her there since girls weren't supposed to be in our dorm.

    John Cromley

I used to have just a few setences about John up, and they were mostly just telling you where he lived. now that you can see that for everyone, I have to write something about this kid. Hmmm. Well, he's trying to get ahold of the couch that I had in my dorm last year for his dorm room - it's currently at the SigTau house. He used to have a 386 computer at school, which didn't quite cut it, but he was proud of nonetheless.

    Adam and Darren

I've known Adam (the guy on the right) all my life, and Darren is his roommate. Adam is a smart guy and a hard worker, and Darren, uhh... likes bikes. These things are getting to be boring now that I can't take up two paragraphs explaining where they live. click here to check it out.

    Christie, Heather, and Anna

From left to right, this is my sister Christie, her friend Heather (who is also Adam's little sister), and their friend Anna. This was taken by the Christmas tree in the Marshall Fields walnut room.

    Ben Cohen

    > This is my friend Ben, who came over a lot freshman year to hang out. Currently, he's living back home in Glenview; he did live at the Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity house for awhile, at which I pledged in the spring of 2000 (making me a sellout to some, a "frat boy" to others, but hopefully I'm still me), but I didn't go through with it, because of costs and also doubts about the type of commitment i wanted to give. I still hang out there a lot, cause there's a bunch of my friends in the house. This was taken in my old room, when he came over to play bond all the time. Another thing, his younger sister and my younger sister are not friends from camp echo (I checked).

    "Money"

Mani hopes one day to get rich playing the stock market, thinking that his middle name mani (pronounced money) will help him have an edge there. Even now, he acts it, and has been known to walk around decked out in his Hugh Hefner-esque bathrobe and pipe.

    Bill Gabriel

This guy used to be my next door neighbor, but second semester I moved down the hall, and this year I live even farther away, so now we're just friends. This was fall of freshman year in my old room. He's got his own page; click here to go there.

    Tom Lacas

I don't know what to say about this kid. Freshman year, Tom was Bill's roommate, my other former next-door neighbor. Now he lives next door with Matt. Next year, he's going to share an apartment with me and Wojo. Tom is known best for his Southerner background, as well as his dead-on "got rice?" impressions. He's got his own site too.

    José

This is José. One day he wandered down here and fell asleep, so i thought, what the hell, why not put him on my website. I haven't seen him much this year.

    Joe Benson

This is Joe Benson. He's from Evanston too, and now he goes to Grinnell college in Iowa. He is a swimmer, and decided to dye his hair blond before he had to shave it all off-that's what this picture is of. Also, check out the poster behind him - it's the same cool sublime one i've got. I think he's like "dude of the month" or something on one of his other friends pages - check it out. Or if there's nothing there these days, you can always just go to his friend's site which has lots of pictures of all the swim team people, including all the beautiful girls he is continuously pining over. The second picture is Joe with his parents, Jon and Shelley (or moo as I call her) at a swim meet or something.

    Jonmark!

This guy is one of my friends from high school, better known as Jonmark. In July he started going out with this girl and then disappeared off the face of the earth (well, for all practical purposes anyway). He's at Brandeis now with Adam Schiff (that's somewheres near Boston). He's known to his parents as Jonathan; during high school whenever we'd go to his house, he'd be asleep. If he was at his house and we weren't, then he'd be online. Oh yeah, don't tell him this, but Joe and I put his picture up on Am-I-Hot-Or-Not.com (it's tons of fun - www.amihotornot.com), and he got rated a 7.5 out of 10, meaning he was considered hotter than 72% of the other people on the site.

    Gwen Yarbrough

Last but certainly not least, here are a few shots of my friend Gwen in action. A fellow Star Wars fanatic, we went to high school together - now she's in Pennsylvania at Franklin & Marshall. Oh, and that isn't me in the picture.

    Michael Swierz

This is Michael Swierz. He's a good guy. Look at his picture from our high school graduation. It was taken the day we all graduated from high school. He goes to Brown, and that's in Rhode Island. I went to visit him once. Back at home, we usually stay up really late and go drive somewhere far (like the Wendy's on the oasis on I-94, about an hour away) and just chill and stuff.
