October Thoughts

October 7, 2003

Sitting in an almost empty restaurant at 7pm, eating a 6 inch grilled chicken sub, with the music of Mix 96 drifting overhead and the eerie reflection of the lite up menu mixed with the walkers outside on the window makes one fall deep into the moodiness of pondering thoughts.
I thought some things I probably should not have thought today, and said somethings I'm not sure was smart to express out loud, but I did it anyways. I also was thinking of the certain something that has been eating at me as of recently, something that nobody has heard of since it's never been expressed out loud. I wish I could write it here ... but even that is something I'm not yet comfortable doing. It's been too long and it's too distant now to have any impact. I guess it will forever live in my mind alone.

I've been lacking in some Krispy Kreme-isms as of late, so her's some:
"Are you going to marry me?"
"I'm to young to get married."
"So am I, but we can pretend."
"But I'm too young to get married"
"You're going to make me cry."

"You scrounger!!"

"I'm going on my second break ... you know like the hobbits' second breakfast in Lord of the Rings .... so do you think you can cover coffee while I take my second breakfast?"
"So how was your second breakfast?"
"It was great ... well worth it."

"The bitch, she refused my offer of a hat."
"You should start adding your phone number to the hats and see how many get refused."

"I have another dillemma...." .. the queen of dillemmas lately it seems ... and why is that?

It is here that I quote a dear somebody, who I wish I was on an even level with, but am sadly not. And who know if I ever will. But words are poety (especially these) even if relationships are not.

"Greeted every morning by a flurry of speckled orange that flits and zags around the parking lot, too restless to pause, too full of life to deblur its finest details, thoughts cannot help but turn to the coming migration. The leaves are beginning to turn, the wind is growing teeth, and the rest of the summer-fattened insects and spiders are curling up to die."

Well I had a lovely weekend doing just nothing - no homework and just having some fun times. Went downtown for a relaxing day just wandering around, and spending some nice time in a certain Second Cup ... it has a certain atmosphere about it I think.
Saturday was a great day (kinda cold) at a football game at school. We bundled all up and brought our ponchos, umbrellas, and rain jackets, and it hardly rained at all. Some highlight were the coffee guys (selling coffee and special coffee that they add tons of Bailey's into), the fact that we won the game (YEAH!!!!!!) the half-time (with Buzz LOL), and the best was the poor beer guys - "Cold beer, really cold beer, getting colder by the minute ... better buy it before it freezes people." They finally managed to wear us down by the fourth quarter ... and it was really cold and really good ;-) Then Saturday night we went up to see the Halloween Festival in Sainte Anne Des Plaines.... a lovely little town with the most enthusiastic energy for Halloween which is quite refreshing. I got a lantern as a souvenir and we went to the haunted houses they had too. A very nice evening following a very nice afternoon.
Sunday afternoon consisted of watching the Als play the Renegades and winning ... and looking forward to the playoff game in two weeks.

So it was an unproductive weekend that probably did me more good than not. Although they don't happen often this one was especially appreciated.

Who'd of thunk it - in the "How Sexy Are You" Quiz I scored a ........

Sexy is Your Middle Name

"Although you have been known to grab the bull by the horns when someone piques your interest, you sometimes second-guess your sexiness quotient. But, have no fear — you're as sexy as they come!

"Although you are humble about your self-worth, you are able to act on an opportunity to meet or approach someone you are attracted to. Because you balance your confidence with humility, you exude natural sexiness that is neither over-the-top nor too timid to enter others' radar.

"If there's an opportunity to meet someone who appeals to you, you think about how you are going to act or what you are going to say and weigh your options. Sometimes you bellyflop and at other times your form is Olympic, but you get top marks for trying — many people are too afraid to try.

"You are well-liked in relationships because you can be direct and diplomatic about your needs. Congratulate yourself — sexy is your middle name!"
