September Thoughts

Major update is needed ... alot has happened, and amazingly I haven't had time to write down all the quirky "isms" for the day. ;-)
First off, August 31 was a trip to Ottawa ... it was pouring rain when we left, and we ended up hiking up to the Parliment buildings in the rain, only to walk back the way we came, lose our "tour group" and end up circling until we found ourselves back with them again .... thankfully the rain stopped by the time we got out of the tour and had to go outside for lunch. Our tour guide/bus driver was pretty amazing ... according to him, everything was "Spectacular!!" It made for an amusing commentary all the way in. After Parliment we ended up walking around to find food, then onwards to a bus tour of Ottawa and Gatineau ... and then the search for the Gatineau Park ... not many wanted to go in the first place, and yet it was on the itinerary, so therefore we had to go ..... ended up startling some poor woman in her car as we sided up beside her, opened the bus door and tried to get directions ... got some pretty crazy looks from some kids on their way home from school as we honked the horn and pulled up beside them ... also stopped in the street, honked, and then ran across the street to ask another lady, all the while trying not to get attacked by her dog that was yapping the whole way. Finally, after meeting up with the same little kid on our way back up the same street, honking and waving at him about three times, we ended up on yet another residential street going the wrong way. Trying to attempt a u-turn with a double-decker touring bus in that kind of street was not easy ... however, we did get the right directions from the last guy watchign us try and turn ... and we found the elusive park. "So, is there anything special here?" ... "Do you know where you are?" .... the best insult from the information guy at the park ... however he did send us along the road for a little sight seeing from the bus and a couple of look-outs to stop at ... the green lake that was called Pink ... and a look-out over the farming land and the Ottawa River ... with an amazing group shot ... also one with the driver thanks to some friendly cyclists ... then we made our way back to the Ottawa side for the driver's book ... he was truly looking forward to buying that and we couldn't let him leave without it .... and at the same time we all stopped for a hotdog stop at the little street vendor .... poor people had to cook up almost 20 hotdogs ..... The trip home was quiet, as most are ... and we got back just after dark. A "spectacular" trip it was ... I hope my pictures turn out well.
September first I ended up working and having everybody wishing me a Happy Birthday ... "Did you tell everybody it was my birthday?" ... "Yup ... the whole building knows!"
The second was a birthday dinner with some friends ... one was missing due to "being sidetracked" ... I'll have to follow that up one of these days ..... Dinner was good ... the two glasses of wine helped with the funny comments as well ... the slipping and sliding of a certain someone's back seat ... the ordering of a "big-ass burrito" ... the declaration of more than one girlfriend ... and adding "I don't know" to the credit card receipt line for telephone number added a comment from the waitress. The trip to the Loft was a bit interesting ... leaving at 10:30 only allowed for 30 minutes to make it there in time to get in for free .... some how we managed .... "Who farted?" "Not me" "Not me" "Not me" ... "Well somebody's lying!" "Ohh ... I think its coming from outside - quick close the windows, it's getting worse!!!" "I'm going to be sick!!" ..... Once we got inside the Loft, after witnessing some disgusting guy relieving himeself in a doorway while in line ... "Quick move forward ... we gotta make it before it heads down stream" ... we got some Alabama Slammers for free ;-) I had about 10 or 11 of those .... then we had to wait for the dancing to begin. Not too many weirdo that night ... just a couple of stalkers ... but we managed to keep away from that pretty well. Some of my goals have been accomplished at the Loft for the moment ...
Pole Dancing --> Check
Cage Dancing --> Check
Making out with strange guy --> Check
"Kissing strange men on the dance floor ... what am I going to tell your mother?"
"He seemed to be kissing alot of girls."
"See ... you don't even know where that tongue has been!!"
"But it tasted good!"
The ride home was filled with visions of cops in groups at almost all the street corners ... and even cops on horses ... that's almost unheard of downtown!!
Saturday I ended up going to work ... discussing some of my fun from the night before .... "So, did you get his number?" ... "I didn't even get his name! Or even know if he spoke English or French" ... "What? You made out with a guy you know NOTHING about? You know that makes you a slut right?"
"IT'S NOT LIKE I FUCKED HIM!!!!"
"Was he a licky? ... Did he lick you anywhere ... other than the inside of your mouth?"
And finally ... Sunday was the family party ... as small and pathetic as they are these days .....
Today was Labour Day ... a day to do nothing ... I enjoyed that ... I got to visit with some people at work and some friends down the street from work ... it was a great day ... and dammit if I dress up to impress people who don't give a damn! ... I'm suck a sucker ... however I'm determinded to cash in on my free movie .... I'll wait until that person is no longer broke ... I'm a patient person ... until then I guess the clothes will have to do the reminding!

Who'd have ever thought that lunching at Dagwood's would be so difficult? I was bound and determined to do something about it though ... I managed get through it despite the clenching stomach and slight shaking ... I should be used to this feeling - I mean it's been part of my work schedule every week or so a few months ago ... it's nice for it to not be present anymore ... however, there's something about loose strings that has been bothering me lately ... I'm tired of so many awkward conversations, uncertainty in greetings ... I wish for a time when eveything was natural and fun again ... what happened to those days?

The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday. -- Baz Luhrmann - Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
Hmm ... how 'bout 11:30am on a Tuesday?
