September Thoughts

Well an amazing birthday celebration took place this Labour day. Went to Vocalz, an amazing kareoke bar with some great friends. The shamazal to get to the place though was too interesting .... running through the rain, with one barefoot, another holding her shoes, just to get across the street to a place to wait until there was room in the little bar that is Vocalz. Ran to there in the rain after we saw the group of 40 outside of the place so we knew there was room for us. Sang a few tunes ... it was great fun ... got tipsy off some expensive alcoholic beverages ... or at least a few of us did. Somehow ended up getting ice cubes shot down my shirt ... not too pleasent when you're NOT wearing a bra!! And of course the BLAH imprint the day after heehee. The unpleasent "she's not pretty" on the way out ... still not sure who it was directed to, but either way it was not nice! So it was a blast ... at least for the girls ... the guys didn't look so excited nor did they participate as much .... ;-( But much fun was had and many great gifts from the heart were received ... thank you all.
Then the REAL weekend started .... My parents were off to Ottawa for the weekend and left at 10:30AM ... that's when the fun really started. ;-) It started off with a bang (hehe) and some amazing food preparations ... if my boyfriend was good for only one thing I'd have to say his imagination ... in all things I guess ... but for food ideas it really rocks. I opened my birthday gifts from him the night before (a little baby Rico racoon, and Animal House the movie!!!), so there was no suprises there ... ;-) But after a long nap ... nice long nap ... there was a candle lit dinner for two to celebrate my birthday ... and the two of us a bit tipsy from a whole bottle of red wine. Then off to play pool in a cute, cosy pool hall not far from my house. Some of the antics there were kodak worthy ... the LOOOONG games, the tripping shots, the bad music - slow french songs ... definately not "pooling" music. It was great fun though ... even with the "don't go, we'll be the only ones left", and the "we don't carry women beers". Well HARUMPH to you!! The partial walk home, and encountering some real assholes on the way. Who in their right mind yells out the window ... no screams... while driving by two people sitting on the sidewalk? Either way we made it home okay .... Only to watch a movie after cleaning up so that was a 4AM night.
The next day was a late lazy morning, followed by some historical info provided by my grandmother. She's always a great woman to visit with ... just sitting with her can turn into hours of really neat things being told about how things were. Then another creative supper that I helped innovate ... ;-) Turned out pretty good ... with some more wine to get us really tipsy!! Too bad it didn't last all night .... Then there was the "cleaning" and watching another great movie followed by a massage from my boyfriend ... ;-). That was a nice end to a great evening.
Monday was a teamwork day ... and the arrival of my parents from their little trip to end off the weekend.
Then back to school and back to reality .... But even that is getting to be pretty fun ... the start of University a few blocks away keeps my sweetie coming around a bit more often that if he wasn't there .... It's nice to know he comes back to see me as well as keep in his comfort zone. I just hope that he gets his mind set in place before things pile up on him. There's only so much unpiling I can do to help him out. Other than that it's been a great start to a new month. I got a story of mine on the Lighthouse Wire ... even though the editor teased me about it ... ;-Þ, but it's a kinda publication so I think it's really neat!! Other than that I'm getting adjusted to the new kind of school work ... kinda weird doing homework while my boyfriend sleeps in the other room ... ;-) So now I'm off to attempt to finish what I started last night ... only 200 more words and I'm done ... should be done in the snap of a finger ... or rather many snaps of many fingers .... Till next time!! Hope I have more time to write in here .... ;-)

Some say life can be like a dream world. When things are going great, happiness is abound, and there's a feeling of complete confidence and certainty that everything is possible, that's like a dream world. But what if everything is the opposite? If things can't get any worse, and there is no certainty in anything is that a nightmare come true? For the events of Tuesday I think it is just that - a true nightmare come to life, a day Hollywood came into reality, the time nothing will ever be the same again. To all the victims, to all the families, to all those involved, touched or just affected - I wish for the alarm clock to go off for all of us to take us out of this nightmare.

An interesting weekend was had. So many special occasions in only a few days - an anniversary, a wedding, and my first actual driving experience. The first was the anniversary of one year ... yes it has been that long ... or so we're saying it is. I actually wore a dress and got a really nice blue rose and a sweet card. He was as casual as ever ... and got some video tapes ... hey they are collector's items now so that's special!! Jillian's was the place we ate (note - never go there), and we got to see America's Sweethearts ... a movie I for some reason really related to .... Then it was a quiet evening ... with the exception of the "triple time" - that was amazing, and into the hectic next morning. The preparations for the best friend's wedding was interesting to say the least. But I must admit some may disagree but I think my boyfriend looked good. Plus he had a good time and will be looking forward to the actual wedding ... the whole church thing not just the judge ... when the decor will be medieval style ... I must admit that the extensive discussions of it have made me look forward to it as well. My first actual "on road" experience wasn't too bad. I didn't damage the car, and except for the guy who cut me off, it was a relatively smooth ride. Only a slight headache after it all, but no signs of nervousness while driving ... I think I'll like it. Can't wait until I'll be the one making the trips to Blainville and back. Then to finish off such an amazing weekend, the Als had to loose on Sunday's game. But I think having the boyfriend "live" at my house for the weekend is a plus side to any weekend, and even the bad football game won't spoil the memories of such a sweet celebration with an amazing guy. Thanks for the "forever" gifts, and the memories together this past year ... you truly are unforgettable. ;-*
