April Thoughts

April 8, 2006

Well my first Saturday night home alone ... I had an interesting pep talk from a new friend. I'm partial to taking his advice ... seems to mirror that of my fellow pumpkin matchmaker. Two people can't be wrong about the same thing.
Found out something interesting a few days ago - apparently I'm seen has having lived my life. Have I really? What have I accomplished in the past few years? I've made a few new friends, experienced some new adventures, graduated from University, found a career path to follow, managed to save up money for a car and see the future in a positive light ... if somewhat scary light it is. But can that really be seen as LIVING ... what defines living a life ... compared to just existing in it? The past few years I have remained in the same job, the same university, the same place of residence with the same people, and have not formed any bonds with a significant other. Some might say that to truly live your life you must have one of those dramatic changes in it ... I've had nothing dramatic occur ... its been quite bland really. Very hard to understand how that can be seen as living to some people ... hard to understand how that can be a want of others .... The grass truly is greener on the other side ... while I'm quite content with what I have and have not accomplished in the past few years, something in me has decided that the person who has accomplished these dramatic changes has done something more that I.
Well back now to my gin and diet pepsi, Theory of a Deadman on CD and homework to finish on this lonely Saturday night at home.

Well I have my last day of regular classes to look forward to tomorrow. WooHoo ... and my final project is due the next day. Let's hope I can get it finished on time ... well finished properly ontime. Following that I've got 3 exams to study for, a take home exam to do and an extra paper to write. All to be completed by the 5th of May ... and then full time work. Ahh ... I think I'm going to be stretching my inbetween weeks of school and work. Imagine that - summer is already here .... oh and we have a new Malibu member of the family - real great deal and should be picking it up by Thursday ... however that means I get to be first driver on my car (about time) which means my insurance will be doubling ... oh dear - the bills never stop piling up! My account is dwindling ... however I'll be full time soon ... I just have to be careful with my purchases during the summer and make no stupid comments about paying for my own school semester again. ;-) ... should be a good summer coming up ... it's almost here already - I bought a pair of shorts and a tanktop today ;-) ... and I'll be wearing a skirt tomorrow - it truly is summer!!

What Kind of Listener Are you?

"I know you're going to get a good job. You know how I know that? You're beautiful. No beautiful girl I know doesn't have a good job. You look into that and you'll see it's true. And you know what else? You smile - that counts for a lot too."
