Her penmanship was better than mine! I have copied this as she wrote it. Hope you can use it. They sure were good, just like candy." Watermelon Rine Pickles![]() Cut rine in squares or strips as desired Put in pan, cover with water, add one tablespoon of lime to water. Let stand over night. Next morning, drain off, wash, cover with ice water, add one teaspoon of salt. Bring to a rapid boil. Take rine from salt water, put on absorbant paper or clean cloth. Drop in syrup. Let boil til clear. Avoid overcooking. Note from Dolly: If desired, put in one or two cloves or spice. I never put in mine. (I prefer not using cloves or spice.) Make syrup accordriant quantity of rine. |
