Submitted by ~Donna~ Date Pinwheel Cookies1 cup sugar1 cup brown sugar 1 cup shortening 3 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 4 cups flour 1 lb. dates, chopped fine 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup hot water Cook filling ingredients until thick. Let cool. Mix in order given for dough. Divide into 3 parts and roll or pat to 1/4" thick. Spread filling over dough. Roll up like a jelly roll. Let stand overnight, or longer in refrigerator.(I wrap each part in plastic wrap.) Slice and bake @ 375' for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown. Back to the Cookbook Index On to the next Recipe |
