The Pimp of the Nation

Kid Rock a.k.a the nation's pimp wasn't always pimpn'. At first Kid lead a normal everyday life. Everybody knows his name now but, Robert James Ritchie had to work for his title. Kid rock was born on Sunday, January 17th 1971. Rock grew up in a normal middle class Catholic household. Rock was one out of three kids.Rock had a older brother and sister. Him and his family lived in Romeo, Michigan, which was 40 miles from Detroit. Rock was a singer from the start. When he was young he would perform for his parents.

When he was a teenager he would break dance and practice on the turntables. Rock was very into hip-hop.

But Rock didn't get his break until he was 17 years old. Not knowing anything about the music world, Rock signed his first contract with Jive Records in 1990. That year he came out with his first album "Grit Sandwiches for breakfast". This record didn't really make it, however he did get to be a opening act for the 40 city tour featuring Ice Cube and Too Short. This was his first real performance. After the tour Rock signed with a smaller label called Continuum Records.

In 1992 Rock came out with another record "Polyfuze Method". This record showed more of the real Kid Rock.

Then in 1996 Rock had another record "Early Morning Stoned Pimp".

It wasn't all fun and games Kid Rock had it hard while trying to make it for himself. He's been broke, he's had to sell, he became a father, and he had a lot of bad gigs.

Finally, In 1998 was when things started to happen for Rock. Kid Rock teamed up with Twisted Brown Trucker(TBT). This is when Kid Rock released his album "Devil with out a cause" which made 4x platinum. This was it Rock finally got what he had deserved. Now in 1999 Rock performed at Wood Stock 99', The MTV Music Awards, The WB Radio Awards, and The Letterman Show and many more. And he tears up every stage!

Rock has Lit up every stage on his "Between the Legs tour" with his middle finger held high while stippers bared their bodies. Ten years of hard work paid off. Kid Rock is a favorite on MTV, he's in magazines, he got props from Areosmith and he has more and more fans each day and most important he has his loved 6-year old son junior. Kid Rock has lived up to his name. Rock and TBT deserve everything they get. Keep Pimpn'
