The other 9-11 that changed history!

In the book The Bible of the Revolution which documents this nation's history, this is what was submitted to Congress on September 11, 1777: "... that the use of the Bible is so universal and its importance so great that your committee refer the above to the consideration of Congress, and if Congress shall not think it expedient to order the importation of types and paper, the committee recommend that Congress will order the Committee of Congress to import 20,000 Bibles from Holland, Scotland, or elsewhere, into different parts of the States of the Union." (Previously the Colonies depended upon England for literature in their native tongue, but importation of such ceased because of The Revolutionary War.) Whereupon it was resolved accordingly to direct said Committee to import 20,000 copies of the Bible.
So much for separation of church and state!

This is another action of our early Congress that reveals their Christian values. The importance they gave to this legislation of importing Bibles is magnified when one considers the day upon which it occurred: September 11, 1777, the same day the Battle of Brandywine was claiming the lives of 1200 Americans which resulted in the defeat for the Colonial Army. Congress was meeting within earshot of the cannon fire of this battle.

God is not obligated to bless America, simply because we sing the song, or because we are the superpower of the world, or even because of the tragedy of 9/11 in 2001. He blesses nations and their people when they let Him rule their affairs. Get a revolution in your soul. No longer be ashamed to ask for His leadership in every area of your life! THAT'S HOW THIS COUNTRY STARTED. AND THAT IS HOW WE CAN REMAIN FREE.
