Miles of water separated me from my homeland on a visit to Mexico. I couldn't help but think of the huge gulf that Jesus spanned between God & I. In doing so He was saying, "Hope is brought near to you now." He gives us a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). Actually, every blessing that heaven itself enjoys is brought near to us (Ephesians 1:3).
So God is exclaiming, "Don't you think that if I went through all the trouble to span the gulf to be with you forevermore that I desire strongly to be near you now?"
He is here...now. That gives strength to say as Psalm 34:1 declares: I will praise the Lord no matter what happens.
Lord, I repent for acting like you're afar off. You're in me and I"m in you. I will go through my day with you. Thank you for your presence in each moment. next page
