15 reasons why Christianity doesn't work

We think we can give God half our hearts when He asks for it all. If people knew that they would probably have to give their lives in order to be a Christian, how many conversions do you think there would be? That was the default mindset when Christianity originated, but now we consider it a rare exception.

We prefer to add God to our agenda instead of leaving all to follow His.

We only think we need Him when we're in trouble.

We don't act on what we know.

We think the old nature is still in charge.

We are trying to do it alone without remembering His Presence is always there.

People don't think they can ever be like Jesus & almost nobody knows another Christian that loves God with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength on a regular basis.

It's easier for us to follow a person's teaching because we don't realize God can personally reveal to us what He wants and define who we are.

You've heard about Him but you don't really know Him.

He didn't answer some of your prayers the way you hoped so you gave up.

You consider your failures greater than His love.

You require God to do something else or explain something before you're willing to give Him control.

You believe Christianity is an assignment God gave you to accomplish. When results don't happen you assume you're not trying hard enough.

You view the objective of the Christian life as proper thinking and proper action, issuing forth in correct doctrine and correct morality. In order for this to work out you have to point out that others are not doing these things the right way (like you) and eventually you have built a castle of self righteousness.

You depended more on your faithfulness than His faithfulness. You are not the hope of glory. The Bible says Christ in you is the hope of glory - Him living in you and functioning through you. He started the work in you and He performs it.
Faithful is He who calls you and He will do it! 1 Thessalonians 5:24
