Then why not…

Think about it for a minute. We here in the Portland Maine Local 458 are pretty well organized. So when you look around at your fellow workers you can assume that most of them are proud Union members. They care about their families and their fellow employees. They realize that without the Union we would be treated as casuals are. Without the Union we would not be making the kind of cash that our solidarity demands. We would be forced to work all kinds of hours that would change at the drop of a hat. We would be forced into training situations and our days off would be anybody’s guess. Without the Union the strain on our personal lives with our spouses and children would be stretched to the max.

Why o why would anybody not support an organization who sole responsibility is to represent us the workers.

Is your excuse related to the Unions support of women’s rights? Then you must realize that the USPS supports women’s rights as well as a specialized diversity program? If this is your reasoning, then you better find another employer, one who thinks like you.
