MATERIALS:
note:
these were made for a 32 year old man with 10 inch feet and they fit! He loved them, even hand washes them.
**2 skeins Reynolds or Inca Alpaca

**size 5 dpn's
**Elastic thread to reinforce so they won't fall down, for the cuff, heel and toe (or the whole sock if you want to).
Gauge: approx. 5 sts/ inch in St st.
Cast on 48 sts. K2, p2 rib for 5 1/2 inches.
HEEL FLAP:
Knit 12 sts, turn, slip one, purl back on those 12 sts and onto 12 sts of third needle, so the cast on yarn is in the middle of your work. Continue working back and forth on these sts, slipping the first stitch. When you've got about 3 inches on there, it's time to decrease.
DECREASING HEEL FLAP: Row 1: Slip one, knit 11 sts, slip one, knit one, slip one, pass slip stitch over (psso), turn in the midddle of the row.

Work foot until it measures however long you want it.
DECREASING FOR THE FOOT:
Row 1: Needle 1: Knit up until the last 3 sts, k2tog, k1. Needle 2: K1, sl 1, k1, psso, k till last 3 sts, k2tog. Needle 3: K1, sl 1, k1, psso, k across row.
