A Gallery of the Sad
sympathy from and for the hurting
The Boy
He is living in the aftermath
of a war in his homeland.
He has lost everything, his family, home, and toy cars.
The Girl
She expected a wonderful night
only to be betrayed by a careless person that she treasured in her heart.
"Why?" she cries.
Her
Beyond all the pain,
there lies a broken heart.
Destined to destroy,
and tear her life apart.
Knowing not of all,
the love she never had.
Wandering aimlessly lost,
not knowing what's ahead.
How she loved to dream,
about life for which she yearned.
Swallowing up her tears,
tolerance is what she learned.
Nothing seemed to wake her,
and she seemed not to care.
So hard it was to change,
her unending, living, nightmare.
No one tried to reach her,
giving her not a breath.
Possibly leading and causing,
the very glimpse of her own death.
The Old Man
It's his 100th birthday.
But no one notices. In his tiny house, he eats his cake alone,
wondering where his children are.
Judas
Judas betrayed the only One that
truely loved him for a few coins.
He later threw away the coins, and hung himself
Is this not the rejection that every one of us gave Christ?
Sadness, sorrow, pain, loniless, and guilt has entered the world as a result.
Encouragement
- this is not the end of the story. Because of His love for us, Jesus sacrificed everything He was to pay the penalty of the sins of the world.
- He overcame death, and now holds out the gift of a future, a future of wholeness and perfection.
- until then, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18
