| Craig Geddes who was born and bread in
Buninyong moved up a class in drag racing last weekend.
Craig, whose family still resides in Buninyong now lives in Mt. Clear, but has still retained a strong local following. Locals from throughout our region turned up to Calder Park last Saturday to watch Craig. The big occasion was his first appearance in Super Modified. Previously he ran in the slower Super Gas category. Craig's Camira ran a super time of 8.93 seconds at 151 miles per hour. |
While he was eventually beaten in the Semi-Finals
by a Chev' powered Altered, it was a great effort from Craig first time
up.
Craig had to add 50 H.P. to his engine and lighten the car (using fibreglass panels) to make the class. Craig is set for a big season after also making the Semi-finals at Eastern Creek recently. His next competition is in Adelaide and then he will go on to compete for $25,000 in Camberra. Craig is a former Nationals, winner at Super Gas level. |
