It has been confirmed that any of the supposed scripts to the opening scene of Scream 3 that are floating around the net are untrue. Kevin Williamson is just now beginning the script. Also, the rumors of Christopher Walken being the killer are apparently false.

Matthew Lillard in SCREAM 3??:

First off, Wes Craven has confirmed that Matthew Lillard will NOT be returning for Scream 3 as Stu's twin brother.

Has Fairuza Balk been cast for SCREAM 3??:

Early rumors of Kevin Williamson looking at a star from The Craft to be cast in SCREAM 3 was not Fairuza but in fact Rachel True. However, the cast has not been set yet and neither Rachel nor Fairuza have been confirmed to be in the movie

The Rumored Plot...:

On a radio show, Wes Craven said that Scream 3 will take place one year after Scream 2 when Sidney quits college to go to Hollywood to become a movie actress. Sidney’s first role will be a horror film directed by Wes Craven. Which means Wes Craven makes an appearance as himself.

The Rumored Cast...:

The cast expected to return are Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Liev Schreiber, and Duane Martin. Other actors/actresses that are being considered are Ben Affleck (Phantoms), Charisma Carpenter (T.V.'s Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Mark Vaughan (the upcoming movie Species 2), and Leslie Montgomery (the upcoming movie The Real Blonde) Apparently there will be a mix of well known and lesser known cast members.

The Opening Scene...:

Many rumors have been circling around about the opening scene for SCREAM 3. Early rumors have said that 3 female names have been thron around to be the female victim in the opening scene: Jennifer Connelly (Dark City, Labyrinth), Alicia Silverstone (Clueless), and Liv Tyler (Empire Records. One rumor says that the opening scene is a rehearsal for Stab 2 and Alicia Silvertone is playing Cici Cooper and gets killed after the shoot. Another rumor says that the famous victim in the opening scene is indeed a male this time around. So, that almost cancels out Jennifer, Alicia, and Liv from being the unfortunate opening scene victim.

Stab 2??:

I have heard speculations that there may indeed be a Stab 2 in SCREAM 3. The rumored stars are Alicia Silverstone (Cici Cooper), Teri Hatcher (Gale Weathers), and Christopher Walken (Cotton Weary). It is also rumored that Christopher Walken, the star of Stab 2, is actually the killer in SCREAM 3.

On screen??:

Apperently, the Scream 3 movie should be filmed this summer and maybe, if Neve Campbell accept to return in the skin of Sidney Prescott, it will be ready for December 98. The action will take place one year after Scream 2, when Sidney quit the College to become an Hollywood Star. Her first film would be an horror film, directed by Wes Craven...

Dimension Film want to see Scream 3 in cinema on December 98 because the two first films are "hot and fresh" in our mind.

Miss $$:

Neve Cambell says she wants to do another film this summer other than Scream 3, 'cuz miss $$ don't like to play the same character movie after movie. This means that Dimension Films will either offer Neve Cambell 13 millions to reprise her role as Sidney Prescott or Dimension Films may have to delay the production for Scream 3 for a year or longer.

Courtney Cox says she will be happy to return to her role as Gale Weathers, it goes for David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Some rumors say that Rose McGowan (Tatum Riley) should make a comeback in Scream 3.
