Wishes

He lies near me,
Spread out like a peaceful tiger at rest.
His face so gentle,
So close to mine,
So irresistible to kiss.
I cuddle in closer,
Keep me warm from the cold world,
and things don't seem so bad.
The night wanders on,
She dances her moonbeams across my skin,
as gentle as him.
The darkness doesn't scare me,
I know I am safe here
Gracing in the arms of someone so dear.
And as the Dawn stretches her soft rays against us,
I dread the coming morn.
The evening brought illustrious love,
and I hope it never ends.
The Dawn brings the separation,
and a pain I cannot stand.
But soon the eve will come again
When I can rest in his arms.
And I know the night will be long,
and hope the morn never comes.
