We recruit primarily out of Tidewater Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina, but have
members in Maryland, Indiana, and Florida. We have decided to do a
progressive/authentic campaign-style impression as part of
Jackson's Foot Cavalry. We are family-oriented, and at most events field both
military and civilian encampments.

It is a zouave unit, with an unusual uniform, a Black Zouave Jacket with Lt. Blue Trim, a Grey Kepi, and normal Sky blue pants, with Gaiters.

The 49th Indiana has been a unit for over 25 years and we have enjoyed it. We are a family oriented unit with a cadet corp for those young children unable to carry a rifle into battle.
