dba Basic Info

dba are a band that have been through alot of changes since there formation in 1990. When they were formed when NGM's previous band, Heartbeat, which was fronted by Sue Rinaldi, decided that a decade was enough, so in 1991 they disbanded. At this point, the band was a five some, called 65 DBA (standing for ? who knows, some say 65 Dog Breathed Animals j/k*) and they played a wide range of musical styles, there first album :- "Out of Water" was a collaberation between them and another NGM band of the time "Rythm Works" with one side being songs by dba and the other by Rythm Works. In all dba have produced four albums that I know of, "The Great Awakening", which also featured Eils from Ryhtm Works"Out of Water","Shout", and "Bubble" As the size of dba reduced, down to eventually only two, came a change in styles, all the time progressing away from guitar driven music, towards Dance, eventually culminating in "Bubble", there latest release. The dance music they prioduce is of high quality, and a remix of the song "3D" from the "Bubble" album was featured on Pete Tong's essential selection show on Radio 1, I also found a remix of a song called "Go With The Son" on a "White Disc."

dba have appeared on the radio and tv in the UK and europe many times since the release of "Bubble" in 1996, and now play a regenerated "eurodance" sound.

*The stroy behind the joke names:- 65 DBA, as they were then, used to help NGM run the youthwork,"The GAP" at a camp called "Faith" (it always has the year after it (so in 1992 it was called Faith '92) and during one of these weeks, 93, I think it was, they had a suggestion box, and asked for silly suggestions of what people thought 65DBA stood for, one of the suggestions was "65 Dog Breathed Animals"
