I helped my Dad
                  to bed today
                and eased his pain
                  in my own way
                But all I did
                    for my old friend
                Amounted to little
                    in the end
                For he is withered
                  from years of care
                and all his times
                    of being there
                'Til now, he is not
                    there at all
                  and longs to make
                    his final fall
