Once I lived on little things
Was it only two years ago?
A touch, a word, a silent kiss
Communications unseen,unheard
To all but we
We, two lovers, I for her
She for me
And this was all, no social whirl
No need of abundant friends 
Only two
Two, not against the world,
But in it

And now it's one
And one,but why?
Not by our wishes or demands
Did part
But all-healing time did play his trick
And between us sprang a distance
One no vehicle could cross
No mapsmith could chart
And, as our love faded,
So did my heart
Until I stand closer to Death than Life
A death none can see
