A Father's Farewell
I said goodbye
To my elder son
As he follows
His star in the West
And though it's never
Fair to choose
My "clone" I
Must love best
We hugged and laughed
And I turned away
So my son
wouldn't have to see
The worried look
And the tears that fell
As my heart
Was broken for me
Will I ever
see again
This child I've held
so dear
I wonder
Will the world
be kind
This is
My only fear
I am awash
in the Sea of Life
The boy is
gone from me
And it scarcely helps
My sorrowed soul
That this is
What should be
