"He's here. Querida, look at our son." Sonny held the mewling infant aloft for his Mother to see for the first time. Exhausted from the all consuming labor, she gazed at not only her first born, but the Father who had unexpectedly brougth him into the world. "He looks just like you," she said emotionally, tears cascading down her flushed cheeks.
With trembling hands, Sonny wrapped his son in soft linens and placed him gently in his Mother's eager arms. In the background, the wailing of the ambulance encroached on the new family. Sonny swallowed hard, unable to tear his eyes from the beautiful sight before him. "I should go," he whispered. "Nobody knows about me." Dara silenced him with the shake of her head. "I want you here. We'll face the music together," she said lovingly. "As a family."
