SMMO: What's the name of your band, who are the members, and what do they play?

F&TA: Frankie and the Actions consist of 4 members:
Frankie Clark - Lead Guitar, Vocals PRS & Gibson Guitars Mesa / Boogie Amplifiers
Mike Mead - Lead Vocals, Guitar Gibson, PRS Guitars Marshall Amplifies
Jeffro - Bass Guitar, Vocals Ibanez Guitars Ampeg & Harke Amplifiers
Mike Mann - Drums, Vocals Pearl Studio Series Drums Zildian Cymbals

SMMO: Describe your music to someone who has never heard your music before.
F&TA: We're a cover band that plays new rock, classic rock and other dance/funk tunes that always keep the dance floor full; it's music everyone recognizes and enjoys.

SMMO: What's better, stage or studio?

F&TA: There is no better feeling you get performing live on stage.

SMMO: How often, and how long does your band rehearse?

F&TA: After being together for 15 years, We practice about 4 - 6 times a year. Most of or rehearsals are done at sound check.
SMMO: When the band is at rehearsal, describe the atmosphere.

F&TA: Our practice atmosphere is very serious, productive, and quick.

SMMO: Do you promote more on the internet, or by "word-of-mouth"?

F&TA: Internet, e-mail, and mailer of over 700 people.

SMMO: Are Southern Maryland venues supportive of local bands?

F&TA: Yes they are, but there is not enough local bands.

SMMO: What's the biggest downfall of local bands in the Southern Maryland area?

F&TA: Most of them do not stay together long.

SMMO: What can your band offer the Southern Maryland audiences that other bands don't?

F&TA: We have been together over 14 years and play over 50 dates per year and have compiled a song list of well over 100 songs so we are able to entertain a wide range of age groups and musical tastes in one evening.

SMMO: What styles or genre's most influence your music?

F&TA: 70's, 90's, & 2K rock and roll.

SMMO: How can audiences find out more about you, do you have a website?

F&TA: www.frankieandtheactions.com

SMMO: How did the band get its name and how long has the group been around?

F&TA: The band is named after Frankie Clark, the founder of the band. Frankie and the Actions have been together and playing steady in the Washington and Baltimore area circuit for 15 years.

SMMO: Do you perform original songs or cover songs, or both?

F&TA: 90 % of the time we perform covers. We have 2 CD's of original music that we sell at shows and occasionally perform songs from them.

SMMO: What is your secret method of providing the best show possible for the audience?

F&TA: 15 years of experience.

SMMO: What's the bands favorite venue to perform at in Southern Maryland, why?

F&TA: Ape Hangers in Bel Alton, Md. It has become our home.

SMMO: Has the band received radio or television airplay, tell us about that.

F&TA: One of our songs from our second CD "Generation Why" was on a compilation CD produced buy Oasis Recording Studios and played on over 100 radio stations across the USA. We have been interviewed live on the radio by good friend Kirk McQuinn on DC101 and Baltimore's 98ROCK.

SMMO: Would you ever consider not playing music?

F&TA: Not anytime soon.

SMMO: Is there a lead song writer who comes forth with the majority of original material?

F&TA: Frankie Clark writes all of our originals.
