BALANCED MAN
SCHOLARSHIP
Sigma Phi Epsilon has established the Balanced Man Scholarship in an
effort to recognize SU students who have shown academic excellence and
have repeatedly proven their leadership skills both in the classroom and
the community. Sig Ep wishes to commend first year students
representative of tomorrow's leaders: well rounded, balanced individuals
who set themselves apart from the crowd.
Sigma Phi Epsilon
is a social fraternity founded in 1901 at the University of Richmond. The
Salisbury SEC chapter was founded at Salisbury University in the 1990's
and was reestablished in the spring of 2003. Today, Sigma Phi
Epsilon is represented on over 270 college campuses, with a current
undergraduate membership of over 16,000 - more than any other fraternity
in the world. Our alumni consistently demonstrate the leadership shills
they developed as college students, currently holding top positions in
companies such as Merrill Lynch, McDonald's, and The Wall Street Journal.
Our Balanced Man
Scholarship Committee will accept applications every fall and evaluate
candidates based on academic and extra-circular performance.
The Balanced Man
Scholarship is a cash award with no bearing on or relation to financial
need and functions independently of SU's financial aid office. Therefore,
applying for or winning an award will not impact any financial aid status.
Furthermore, the Balanced Man Scholarship does not oblige the
participants, finalists, or winners to join Sigma Phi Epsilon. The
scholarship is awarded in December, before the end of the first semester,
every year.
