...To End All Speculation

By Bugsy4Life

I would like to take this time to clear up any and all misconceptions about the issue at hand. First of all, Rest in Peace, MaijinSting. It's very sad to see someone die, let alone a friend. Since his death, all sorts of rumors, scenarios, and speculations have been flying around the Internet via the various Mugen message boards.

Stories have ranged from him being in a fatal car crash to him not even being dead at all. The latter, is definitely not the case. Although MaijinSting was involved in a car wreck a mere 3 weeks prior to his death, his death came at his own hands. He committed suicide. He overdosed on various medications and died in his sleep on Monday, April 29, 2002.

It is known that he sent out both a Mugen-related e-mail and a family/friends e-mail informing them of the situation and giving thanks to all that have contributed anything during his time. Some say this is a sick joke or a cry for attention. I'm sorry to inform anyone who believes any of the aforementioned, that you are wrong. This is a very tough time for many of the people who actually knew him. As far as I'm concerned, this was not meant for the message boards. He contacted everyone who wanted to know.

While, I do not know the history between many Internet personalities and MaijinSting, one thing is for sure. After reading some of the post-death comments, it is known that many people didn't like him. Although some comments lead me to believe that the person typing them are either immature, selfish, ignorant little children who portray themselves as adults or people with no ounce of humanism, people choose to believe what they want. I cannot change the way people think or feel on the matter. All I can do is bring forth the truth. Hell, people still don't believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for "our" sins, so I know people would have doubts about someone dying on the Internet.

What really angers me is the mere fact that people still hate him, even after he's gone. For example, Shin Dio Brando had this to say:

"Someone with a..not bad....awful attitude, which neglected to apologize for anything, thinking that he was right ALWAYS... He created something? NO. He was a "good" person? NO. Surely, no one (sane) here will miss him."

I know my friend and yes, he acted like a complete bitch sometimes but he had reason to. I'm not defending everything he has done because he's been wrong on several occasions but we're human, right? We are destined to make mistakes. It's not so bad that you have to literally dislike a person. "He created something? NO." Yes sir. Over 20 Street Fighter Alpha 3 Character Intros and 4 Marvel Super Heroes endings. Check for yourself here. It's funny that you replied to a post on his creations banning him for posting in a "Dating Sim" forum but, then you proceed to go to Mugen Development Forum and claim he's never made anything. "Was he a good person? NO" How would you know? You said it best yourself when you stated that....

"Those who are "sad" here...surely you don't know him (and I'm not talking about knowing him well, but at least KNOWING him) and are just trying to look like "good" people, when really you're looking as a hypocritical guys which only post "how sad" when you never met him, or at least talked to him "

No offense but, the only hypocrite I see is you. But, Shin Dio Brando, don't feel bad, because you are not the only one. People still hold grudges against him. For example Nuse II. It is known that MaijinSting confronted your counterpart Koga and requested the hosting of the stage. You come to the website and demand that it not be taken down, but linked to your site. He's the proof.

"I don't care if he is dead or not, he still has to take off my Burning Osaka download. That is NO excuse to leave it up, at ALL. I wish I could piss on his grave right now if he were really dead, but sadly he isn't." After reading the following comment, I was left wondering what are talking about. 1) He did everything you requested. He linked to your site and took down the direct download. 2) News flash, his website isn't even in existence anymore.

I'm going to draw this to a close and im sure that this will leave many questioning why I wrote this. In my opinion, I feel it was my duty based on what has been said. Let it be know, that this is a clean-up article addressing all in which have doubts. I would've responded directly to the various comments on select boards but unfortunately, I cannot reply to some, Mugen Development Forum, in particular. He's gone, everyone. Just let it be.

Rest in Peace, friend...
