Thanksgiving & White House Tour - 2003
Thanksgiving - Nov. 27th, 2003

DIANNE PLOWED into the turkey, carving it up steaming hot.

ERIC PULLED the pin on a 5-year-old bottle of white wine...

...WHILE EVERYONE posed before the goodies.

NOW THAT'S a good cookie, thought Susan...

....WHILE GUY TOASTED to the family gathering.

EVEN KELLY got into the act with her "devil" eyes. No food, though. Awwwwwww....

IN OC, Suzy and Guy posed inside the tent before the Winterfest ride. It took 1/2 an hour to get there through the two zip-code waiting line.

SOME OF THE SIGHTS were: the Gingerbread House...

.....THE CHRISTMAS tree......

.......AND the lights leading to the event.

AFTERWARDS, a seafood dinner at the Crab Factory.

THE FOLLOWING DAY saw us take a trip north of OC in the bitter cold. First, a desolate beach and sand dune...

...FOLLOWED by the entrance to the Indian river inlet...

..THEN, finally, a stop for shopping for the girls and a tour of the boardwalk in Rehobeth for Guy.
The White House Tour - Dec. 9th

DIANNE POSED in front of the very entrance to the White House, right where state receptions take place. Wow!

THE WEST ROOM saw guy posing before a grand table. The portrait of Lincoln in the background is world famous.

A CHORAL GROUP of old-timers sang Christmas carols inside the East Room, where the fancy balls are held....

...WHICH WAS magnificently decked out with decorated trees.

THIS PORTRAIT of George Washington was the only piece of art saved by Dolly Madison when the British burned down the White House in Aug., 1814.

THE LIBRARY. In the show "The West Wing," Martin Sheen can be seen in a mock up of this.

REENACTORS FROM the colonial period performed Christmas carols at the exit of the tour.

DIANNE POSED before the entrance and exit to the White House. From there, we had a fine meal and stimulating conversations at the Old Ebbott Grill.
