About Dr. Weitzner

SymbolI am a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology as well as maternal-fetal medicine.  I am board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.  I am on the medical staff of Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center and on the teaching faculty of the College of Medicine of Rush University.

I received my undergraduate degree from CW Post College of Long Island University and my medical degree from Chicago Medical School.  My residency in obstetrics and gynecology was at Mercy and Cook County Hospital.  I completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.

I have special interests in high risk pregnancy, advanced ultrasound (including vaginal ultrasound) and vaginal and abdominal surgery. I continue to improve my knowledge through continuing medical education conferences, attending several each year.  I have published articles on Vaginal Birth After Cesarean section (VBAC), pain above the waist in women, and meconium (fetal stool) in amniotic fluid.  I have been requested several times by the New England Journal of Medicine to review the latest literature in the field of obstetrics and gynecology and have had multiple book reviews published in that journal.  My meconium study was presented at the Annual Meeting of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and won a Surgical Sciences Research Award at Rush- Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.
