Tell me what happened to us,
Why did we drift away?
I thought we promised to each other,
Forever would be the way.

Tell me what happened to the laughter,
What happened to the jokes?
What happened to us crying together?
When either of our hearts broke?

Tell me what happened to the poems,
What happened to the bond?
What happened to us dreaming together?
When we heard our songs?

Tell me what happened to the days,
Spent lazy and carefree,
We had problems through and through,
But we always had you and me.

Tell me what happened to a friendship,
That was never supposed to end,
What came along and ripped us apart?
Can this be mend?

Tell me what happened to talking,
Without opening our mouths,
What happened to silent understanding?
We've gone different routes.

Tell me if I'm dreaming,
And that none of this had ever exist,
Tell me if I'm being selfish,
Because the old times I miss.

Tell me what happened,
Tell me why,
Tell me if through it all, I was living a lie.

Tell me why it's something,
So intangible yet real,
Tell me why you won't talk about it,
And I will never heal.

Tell me why I can't confront you,
Tell my why I'm scared,
Tell me why I don’t know you,
Tell me life's not fair.

Tell me how to let go,
Tell me about me and you,
Let me know the story,
Tell me the goddamn truth.
