I was highly unmotivated this year to be creative when it came to a Halloween costume. I was just going to recycle my witch costume from a couple of years ago but make a few modifications. Well the other day I was scanning Ebay and I found a woman who used to make costumes for a theater in New York. The theater has gone out of business and she is trying to recoup some money she was owed by selling off some of the costumes. While perusing her site I found a dress and all the sudden a light went off and I got that surge of excitement that I used to get when it came to create my costume. See I used to love Halloween and I love making my own costumes but when I moved down here I was surround by people who just were not excited at all about the holiday.

So what is it that I have decided to be you ask? ……A Corpse Bride. But not the one from the Tim Burton movie. Just a bride back from the dead to avenger her death. This is the dress I bought off of Ebay…

I plan on aging it by soaking it in tea then deconstructing it by ripping holes here and there. Then I am going to hot glue creepy bugs all over it and then maybe run it through the dirt.

I have a plan for my makeup but haven’t decided on my cause of death. Either a bullet hole to the forehead or a slashed throat. Then I will use some Spirit Gum to stick some creepy insects onto my skin then gather a bouquet of dead flowers and there you have it.

I think…more like hope, it will look awesome!!!
