I meant to post this yesterday but the entry about meeting "The Fray" was already way too long and didn't want to torture you all with more reading. LOL
One of the Rangers came into the office yesterday laughing and said that I just missed it. Apparently a guy decided to drive his car down the hiking trail. The Ranger luckily stopped him before he got too far. When asked what he thought he was doing, he responded that he just wanted to see if his car would fit on the trail. He also pointed out that there wasn't a sign that said no vehicles allowed. The Ranger tried to explain that the trail was marked for hiking only and if it excluded bikes then it would probably be safe to assume that cars wouldn't be allowed either.
If we put up signs for everything you wouldn't have a place to recreate. Every open space would be occupied with a sign. Come on people...just because there isn't a sign posted doesn't mean you can ignore common sense.
We just can't predict what stupid people will do. It just ends up making my job twice as hard.
I have to go back out to the flooded eagle nest tomorrow. I am hoping the water has receded enough that I won't have to wear chest waders. I am going to see how close we can get to the birds and maybe next time I will take my camera.
