Rotifers

Rotifers, organisms which have only a few hundred cells, are very common in all our tank systems. Rotifers have hair-like cilia that wave food into their mouths. They have a "foot" that secretes a sticky substance, allowing them to attach themselves to a surface. A rotifer moves by walking with its head or foot, or by using the cilia to propel itself.
