Greenhouse

The greenhouse is a 600-gallon tank that receives sunlight filtered through the fiberglass, which produces diffused light. It has a 300-gallon per hour pump that supplies three trickle down 50-gallon filters. These filters contain lave rock medium. The temperature fluctuates from 60-90 degrees Fahrenheit. At the present the water has a salinity of 12-14 ppm and contains 25 stripe d bass and 15 green sunfish. The striped bass were provided by COMB and the green sunfish were provided by the Department of Natural Resources. The striped bass will be returned to the Chesapeake Bay and the green sunfish will be released into a community pond at the Farm Museum in Westminster, MD at the end of the year.
