History:
Born in the southern tip of the High Forest, young Simon is a proud
member of a noble tribe of centaurs. His birth parents are Hycone, his
father and the tribes master hunter, and Kendara, his mother and the tribes
head druid. Both are in high respect within the centaur tribe.
Seeming to be unable to give birth, they began to lose hope in having a
child. But one cold winter night, Kendara had a dream. A bright colored
bird that looked like it was on fire appeared to her. It was flying over
her, Hycone and a young centaur, who she knew was to be her son. The next
morning, she began to get very sick. She was pregnant with a little male
centaur, but never knew it. She gave birth to young Simon that night, a gift
from the gods, her little phoenix. They ended up nicknaming him Phoenix
after the firebird that appear in her dream.
Simon, being born prematurely, was very small since birth, but this did
not stop him. He would always do more than what was ever expected from him.
He would always lend a helping hand to whom ever needed it. They said he
had, not only the nickname, but also the heart of a Phoenix due to his
bravery and kindness.
He ended up taking after both sides of his parents. He learned the
druidic arts from his mother, and his hunting skills from his father. The
tribes elder taught him a few things also. He taught him of one of his races
most hated enemy, the drow. He also taught him of the other ancient elven
races. He learned much of all these races from him, including some of their
languages.
As he grew, he fell for the elder's daughter, Valara. He thought of her
to be the most beautiful centaur he has ever seen. They ended up mating
shortly after Simon's 22nd birthday. A few months after that, his tribe was
attacked by the drow. All of the centaurs fought bravely, and held the drow
off, but a few broke through the centaur's defense lines and entered the
camp. Upon Simon's return he found his wife, and his mother dead. His
father, driven with grief, fled the tribe deep into the forest, never to be
heard from again.
Later that day, from the tribes elder, he learned that the drow came to
his tribes lands in search of a relic, The Staff of the Dead. Feeling the
grief himself, he followed in his fathers footsteps and left the tribe. He
knew his destiny was be the one to get the staff and keep it from the evil
hands of the drow, at any cost. The tribal elder told him of two others who
are out looking for the staff as well. A druid named, Corwen, and a ranger
named, Cadeirin. He waved to his fellow tribe members as he left the tribe
to find the two travelers and to get the staff.
After a few nights journey, Simon ended up arriving in the dwarven city
called Brukabar. The king learned of his journey through word of mouth in
the taverns. Not liking the city of dwarves, he was about to leave when he
was summoned by the king to join a group of adventurers to find the relic.
Upon entering the grand hall he learned that one of these adventurers was
Cadeirin, the ranger who his elder told him of. He decided to join the
group, and to find the staff.
And so his journey begins...
