Explore the world of Mirrorless Beauty:

Concept

The concept of Mirrorless Beauty was created for people like me who cannot see their reflection in the mirror. I don’t base my attitude on what I can’t see in the mirror, but how wonderful it feels to be able to create my own Mirrorless Beauty look. A look that I feel confident with, and it shows.

I have been very fortunate to have learned how to apply my makeup without the use of a mirror. It is so easy to learn and cuts down on the time you spend on getting ready for the day. What a great feeling it is to be independent in creating your Mirrorless Image.

I hope that I can help you to learn how to apply makeup without using a mirror.

There is so much beauty inside of each of us that people don’t see, but we can change that with our gestures and our words. Remember Beauty is not only seen, but is also heard & felt.

Skin Care Tips

The first step in creating a mirrorless image is a clean face. It’s so important to have a smooth and even complexion. Think of your face as an artist canvas. Find a skin care line that provides cleansing, toning, moisturizing for your face & eyes, and an occasional mask for exfoliation at an affordable rate. I personally use a Glycolic acid cleanser, a triple action mask, an eye cream & a moisturizer for my face and neck. I only use the mask twice a week. I would like to know what types of Skin Care that you use on a daily basis. Please e-mail me and let me know.

To find out more information about the different types of Skin Care products on the market today, you can e-mail me or contact my beauty consultant Maeion at her studio: 410-788-3636.

NOTE: The most important thing to remember is that consistency is one of the keys to a healthy and smooth complexion.

Makeup Tips

There are so many different cosmetics on the market today, that finding the right one for a blind or visually impaired person is more difficult than for a fully sighted person. However, if we have a friend or a Beauty Consultant to help us with colors and shades, then we can put together our own makeup kit ourselves. It is very important for us to create our own individual look. To get more information about makeup colors and trends for 2001, please e-mail me or contact my Beauty Consultant Maeion at 410-788-3636. With a little help and guidance, you too can achieve a Mirrorless Image.

The following information contains products and techniques that I use to achieve my mirrorless image. If you don’t already have a routine, I hope that this information will help you to get started.

I have my own basic makeup kit and procedure that I use every day.

  1. Foundation
  2. I first start off with a dual-pressed powder all over my face and neck. I prefer a dual action powder as a foundation rather than a liquid foundation. When I wet my sponge with a little spray of my toner and swipe my powder, it covers my skin just like a liquid without a chance of droplets on my clothes. I have also found my skin to feel very even and smooth.

  3. Eye Coloring
  4. The next area that I concentrate on are my eyes. The eyelid area should be smooth before applying your eye color. I have deep-set eyes, so my eye lids should be a lighter color to high light my eyes. I use a light pink liquid shadow with a sponge-tip applicator all over the eye lid area. This type of eye color is easy to apply and control. Always remember to blend your shadow in a feathering motion from your lash line upwards toward the crease of your eye. To contour the rest of my eyes, I use the same type of liquid shadow but in a darker shade. I apply to the crease of my eye and blend upwards to the brow bone and out to the outer eye bone. Remember to blend the same way (up and out).

  5. Eye Lining
  6. The next step is eye lining. I like to use a soft lining pencil with a sponge tip on the other end for blending. I like to use a pencil in dark black.

I first line the lower lash line from the outside of the eye to the center of the lower lash line, then blend with the sponge tip from the outside of the eye to the inside of the lower lash line. I then repeat this procedure on the top lash line.

  7. Mascara
  8. Applying mascara can be a little tricky. I close my eyes half way and place the mascara brush under the middle of my lashes and apply upwards covering the tips of my lashes. I never place the brush too close to my eyes. To apply to the bottom lashes, I practically close my eyes totally shut so as not to touch my eyeball with the brush, and gently stroke in a downwards motion to cover the tips of the lower lashes. I then take a cotton swab and clean under the lower lashes of any flakes that may have fallen from the brush or lashes. Then I take another cotton swab and apply a little powder under the lower lashes to set the liner and high light my eyes.

  9. Cheek Color
  10. My cheeks are next. I like to use a cheek color in a tube that I can apply to a sponge for control, or an Eye, Cheek & Lip pencil. I apply the color to the top of my cheek bone and a little below, then blend from the middle of my cheek bone back to the middle of my ear. I keep the color high to bring the attention to the top of my cheek bones. I feel where my cheek bone starts and use my finger to guide me in drawing an imaginary line from the center of my lower lashes to the top of my cheek bone. This helps me to know where to start applying the cheek color, but remember to blend back to the middle of the ear in a circular motion. I like to match my cheek color with my lip color.

  11. Lips
  12. I take care of my lips just like my skin. Make sure that you use a lip moisturizer with an S.P.F. of 15, this will protect your lips and help your lip liner and lip color to go on smoothly. I like to use a lip pencil and lip color duo, this way I can’t go wrong with the colors. When I line my lips, I start on the bottom lip and work my way around the lip area. Remember to stay on the lip, and not your skin around the lip. Fill in with your lip color then take a cotton swab and gently clean around the lip. I always finish with a lip gloss to complete the look.

  13. Eye Brows
  14. Make sure that you brush your eyebrows. You can also gel them for a controlled look. There are eye brow stencils on the market today, and if you are interested in accenting your brows a little more , these can help you to do so.

  15. Finishing Powder
  16. Last but not least, I take my pressed powder and press the powder into my face to set my makeup. You can also use loose powder but remember to apply with a large powder brush and knock off the excess into a tissue so as not to get any powder onto your clothes. Brush the powder all over your face and under your neck to complete the look.
