Any connaisseur in the field of Anime knows what Neon Genesis Evangelion is. So let me get one thing straight from the beginning. Anime, or Japanese animation if you prefer, is one of those things you either love with a passion, or hate with an equal passion. Personal experience has taught me this, and it was a bitter pill to swallow indeed. So I will not, repeat NOT, try to convince anyone to like Evangelion, or any Anime for that matter. Something Roger Ebert (a top movie critic in the US) said comes to mind: "There are two things you can't argue in film: comedy and erotica. If something doesn't make you laugh, no one can tell you why it's funny, and likewise, it's hard to argue someone out of an erection." I guess I'm applying his words to Anime as well. Upon seeing or reading something, a person forms an opinion. He'll either like it, or hate it. And try as you can, you will have a very hard time trying to change his opinion on the matter. So, all I can do is recommend that you watch this series, and post what info I have on it. The rest is up to you. Love it, hate it, worship it, burn it, it's always up to you.
Just remember one thing. Far too many people dismiss any form of animated feature just because of what it is: animated. To most people, animated is still synonymous to "kid stuff". If there's one thing I can assure you, it's that Evangelion, and a lot of Anime out there, is definitely not "kid stuff". A lot of Anime is created with a mature target audience in mind, just like other titles are for 5 year olds. Evangelion itself is rated for 18 and over in the US.
Now, from this point onward is where there's supposed to be the character descriptions, plot analysis, and all relevant info for the show. But, you see, the net is so full of fan sites for Eva, that it's difficult to put up something that's original (not to mention doing something that won't have someone mailing you and saying "Hey! you copied my site!"). So you'll have to wait a bit.
However, far be it from me to let you go
empty handed. I will post something that I know will be both original,
and in demand. This is for all the Eva fans who, like me, live in the middle
of nowhere, and don't have hope of finding such things in their local stores.
