Year 2009

The Beginnings - January/February

The Annual 7th Md. Meeting

THE FIRST strike of the year was the 7th Md.'s meeting. It was wonderful to see the guys again....but cold as hell with this drill.

NATURALLY, Dianne enjoyed every part of the proceedings.

A COLD WEEKEND IN LATE JAN. IN OC

LATER THAT month, the troop headed out to OC. It was cold as hell in late January, especially as Maryland smoked Miami in basketball, as we all watched it at the Northside Greene Turtle.

WATCH THOSE calories little girl. Aww, what the heck the family first, calories ....whatever. :-)

SUZY'S BIRTHDAY

Suzy'S 22ND...whew!!! Boy, are we getting old..all of us.

A TRIP TO THE COUNTRY

NOW TO THE good part. In early February on a spectacular sunshiny day, we took off on a trip to Linganore Wineries, and participated in a celebration in Mt. Airy...then there was...

Welcome to Heaven

...THE VOLUNTEERS party. Line dancing, beans, beer.....

...AND A CHANCE to mingle with old friends.

A Cold Weekend For Valentine's Day

NOW THAT'S a Valentine's Day setup :-)

FOR A CELEBRATION, we went to the Mexican Grill in Rio and had margaritas and beer, then watched the fireworks in this movie.

A GOOD DAY ON THE FARM AND BARN - FEB. 21st

THE FIRST STOP was to the Gaithersburg Agriculture Center to look at the antiques and relics. Seen one, seen 'em all. Good fun.

THEN IT WAS OFF to the Arts Barn for the play "ALMOST MAINE," which was worth going out into the cold.

THIS WAS THE standard log which the lovers sat. Lord, it was all funny.

....AND LAST, but not least, a final stop at Growlers for food and drink. What a fine time.

A Wet and Cold Weekend in OC/ Rehobeth - 2/27 - 3/1

THE FIRST STOP after settling in on a freezing Friday we dropped into Seacrets for a "Pain in the ass." Guy, of course, spilled his drink, but managed to save most of it.

SHORTLY THEREAFTER, we mosied on over to the dance hall....and boy did we dance:-). Great!

THE MUSIC never stopped....not ever and neither did we. Great excersize.

ON SATURDAY, we drifted to first, QVC, of course, then to the boardwalk of Rehobeth..then back to the condo.

BUT ON THE way, we had to wade through this crowd. At the condo the wind was our neighbor throughout the afternoon and evening. But then....

....WE CAPPED off the evening with nothing more then spectacular! What a movie!

Dianne's Birthday Bash! Art Show..And Trip To Harper's Ferry

THIS PLAY was memorable...for two things: it was very good and...boy did Guy get the runs :-(..ugh..... Some birthday present.

THE FOLLOWING day we took in a view of class where an arts competition took place.

THIS PAINTING was a winner!!

FROM THE competition to the sublime...Harper's Ferry in the early Spring.

AND WHAT CAN you say.....a dog on the roof.

An Outing w. Gloria to the Dollhouse in Gettysburg

AFTER A trip from Indiana and a long chewing of the cud, Gloria, Dianne, Suzy and Guy went to Bear Country.....

...Where the bears were plentiful but the customers were nowhere to be found. Could be a final farewell here. Afterwards, into Gettysburg and a fine meal.

From Bears to Springfest

THE FIRST STOP, Easter Sunday. The gang was alll here, but Stephen was so tired he missed out on the dinner and slept on the floor.

HERE WE TRAVELED to Baltimore in April to catch the Orioles early. We also walked around the Inner Harbor on a dazzlingly sun drenched afternoon. Center field was pretty hot, though.

THIS WAS ALSO the Ravens weekend rally, so many went to the rally, then caught the Bird game vs. Texas.

THEN IN Early May, it was a trip to the Knights for a wonderful shrimp fest. We did the best we could, but there were just too many shrimp

THEN CAME the Sunfest in Ocean City. WOW! What a concert they put on. Gary Pucket and the Union Gap........

......AND The Association. Wow. We didn't think we could make it to the Inlet at first because an enormous storm was brewing up to the south, but a cold front hit it and nudged it offshore and as they say, the show went on. It's been a great Spring so far with a lot of good memories to come.
