Pictures from January/ February
A Cold Weekend January 18th - 20th
WITH THE WIND howling on a crisp Saturday afternoon, we checked into the Convention Center and had a fine time examining all the arts and crafts. Of, course, shortly thereafter we were glued to the TV watching the Giants beat the Packers.
THIS FINE FELLOW was caught in the act of chomping on a Canadian Goose he whacked. We got the picture, but disturbed this eagle's dinner as he shortly took off.

Christy Virts Retirement Party - Jan 26th
HAVING MET the Virts's in the parking lot and revealing nothing, we led Christy into the Hall where she was astonished to find a full gallery of friends and a lustrous evening of food and dancing.

THE SMILE revealed everything. No more commute...no more stress.

Another Cold Weekend in OC Feb. 8 - 10
AS ALWAYS, the Pirate's Den was a welcome harbor after a long drive from home.
AS ALWAYS, our favorite sport is shuffleboard. Dianne always manages to somehow win ALL the time.

ON SATURDAY we took off to the Outlets, then followed up with a nice visit to Rehobeth. From there it was back to OC and a trip to Fager's Island where we were truly disappointed with the price and texture of the cocktails. But the beach was fine and Snickers had fun.

LATER ON THEN WE headed to Salisbury for a visit with Suzy, and dinner, and watched the movie "Chocolate. Then back to OC and one final trip downtown to a sleeping boardwalk.

Presidents' Day Weekend In O.C. - Feb. 16th & 17th
THE BIG DEAL for the weekend was the Annual Boat Show. And, boy, was it cold. You had to have a vivid imagination to think of going out in the ocean this weekend.
A FIRST was this cocktail being consumed by our, NOW, legal adult little girl.

IN THE BACKGROUND was the marquee sign for the Boat Show. Just taking the picture was enough to have us hustling back to the car....then to the warm condo.

A SHORT WHILE later and it was time to feast....and what a feast. Harrison's Harbor Watch not only provided a dazzling view of Assateague Island, but great food...and great cocktails.

ALAS, WE..errrr, Guy, had to toast the end of the evening with a brew in the Purple Moose. Sunday was for church, brunch at the Knights, and a sad ride home.

Dianne's Birthday - A Mere 28 and Holding - March 8th
MY HONEY after her surprise after she came home from work :-)
ON SATURDAY, Dianne's real birthday, we saw this moving play. It was really something, especially the acting.

THIS WAS THE stage for that play in the background. Later that evening we braved the cold for dinner at Growlers...food wasn't too good, but it was fun, anyway

THIS WAS GUY'S home made card for his honey, whom he loves so dearly.

Harper's Ferry on a Raw Afternoon - Saturday March 15th

ON A RAW SATURDAY just before St. Patty's Day, a trip to the confluence of the Potomac and the Shenendoah rivers brought us to a walk on the wild side, a tasty lunch, and a visit with a confederate officer named J.E.B. Stuart.
Family Adventures from Mar. 15th to April 15th
A Late Winter Trip to O.C. - March 27th and 28th
BEFORE THE TRIP up to Rehobeth on Saturday, the girls got goofy.

THEY REALLY got even more when we made our way to QVC outlet, but the tour of Rehobeth was refreshing.

THAT SATURDAY NIGHT, a great dinner at BJ's and a tour of the Boardwalk made for a nice adventure.

Bob and Sally's Retirement Party @ the Hall April 5th
ONE COULD TELL Bob and Sally were happy, just by the look, if you know what I mean. Music, free booze and beer, dinner and the works! Even Fr. Don got into the act.

YOU KNEW the Beaven and Virts Clans would never pass up an invite like this...not while the Heaney's are putting it on!

A Friday Night @ Rio and A Walk in the Park - April 11th - 13th
ON FRIDAY, APRIL 11th, the rents showed up for a dinner and drink evening at Rio. Usually Eric is around, but not this night.

THE NEXT DAY, Suzy joined up and we went to the Agricultural Park for an exhibition of old farm equipment and this Bonnie and Clyde mobile...where's the Thompson machinegun.

HERE THE GIRLS make one final spring pose. Next stop....warmer weather.

Picture Adventures from April 13th to Memorial Weekend
A Beautiful Day In Baltimore - April 19th
AFTER PARKING near the stadium, we happened to get free tickets to this Gem market.
HERE, DIANNE found herself in heaven with all the goods.

THE GAME was great as the O's beat the Yankees!!!

A BEAUTIFUL O.C. WEEKEND April 27th and 28th
THE BOARDWALK was packed with not only people, but dogs, as well.

LATER THAT EVENING we had a great meal at Crab Alley.

THE FOLLOWING weekend - May 3rd and 4th - Spring Fest
HERE, DIANNE feasted on a roast beef sandwich. Attendance was light...probably 'cause of the price of gas.

TO OUR big surprise, we got to see THREE DOG NIGHT...one is a beautiful number.

Out and About to the Movies - May 10th
IN BETWEEN BIG events, we got to see this movie..Iron Man. It turned out to be spectacular.

Then Came the Big Event - Eric's Graduation - May 21st
THE GANG WAS all here..Annie, Cliff et al, even David.

NO ONE WAS laughing at the miserable rain and cold, but hey..

EVEN THE BEAVEN boys got into the act. 100 page paper...1 week left. Go Eric, go. No more pencils, no more books......

A Night at The Nationals Park - Fri. May 23rd
WITH A SMILE, because of the big win, David experienced his first victory at National's Park....Keep coming, Dave.

AND WHAT BETTER to end a victory, then fireworks.

The Graduation Party - May 24th
THE MAN. Now, save some of that cake.

THE GANG WAS most assuredly all there.

THE BOEHM CLAN....guys and dolls

More Memorial Day Activities - Sun. May 25th
MY PRETTY honey's smile as we waited for the main event.

RICK SPRINGFIELD on the left and the rest of the band. What a
show.

A Ravens Weekend - May 31st - June 1st

THE FIRST thing heard once we got outside the condo was the drums and music of a parade. There were marching bands......
LOTS OF banners........

WAS THIS the Rose Bowl Parade?.........

EVEN CAPT. Jack Sparrow got into the act. Afterwards, we tried for the beach but it was way too windy and cold. So we went...

..NORTH TO REHOBETH AND QVC where we tried our luck and Dianne bought this hat. Tried to find a parking spot where we wouldn't have to pay a meter...no dice. So we then went back to OC. Then there was dinner at this miserable steakhouse..Longhorne..eeeech, walked along the boards, barely caught Snickers running down the steps scared of the thunder and lightning...watched TV, then home the next day.

Summer of 2008 - June, July and Beyond
A Night @ the Park - Sat. June 7th
IN EARLY JUNE, the crew took a ride on Metro to the Nats game. Boy was it hot. The torrential downpour afterwards cooled us off.
BEAUTIFUL STADIUM, but leg room was less then adequate. The view was spectacular.

Gloria Lynn's Wedding - Sun. June 15th
THEN CAME THE wedding of the century. Gloria Lynn and what's his name. It was in a majestic setting. Aaron posted his bail to come to it.

AHHHH....Guy got to dance with the stunning bride.

Another O.C. Trip - Finger Lickin' Good
HERE AT THE CHICKEN FESTIVAL in Salisbury, the food was wonderful, the music great and this little chick didn't mind being held.

BACK AT THE SHORE after the Chicken Festival, Dianne posted her complaints in a universal way on the first day of summer.

Birthday Boys
HERE WERE the two birthday boys. Steve's pushen' 30 real fast. Damn!

4TH of July @ the Beach
SPECTACULAR fireworks in OC near the end of the boardwalk. Problem was it rained like hell as we were forced to walk home...but before we could make it....

......WE WERE forced to make a pit stop here. Didn't matter, it was all good. ;-)

A Shakespeare Night Before Surgery - July 12th

THE SATURDAY before the big show at Holy Cross Hospital, Guy and Dianne found an ad in the Gazette about this Shakespeare play at City Hall. It was great.
THE BEGINNING of the big show began here. From there, the OR and a few days of rehab. Followed by more rehab at home by the Drill Sgt.

Stephen's Promotion To Sgt.- Fri. July 18th

MEET THE new bosses, not the same as the old bosses.
A MOMENT of brotherly love and mutual respect.

STEPHEN AND HIS fellow policemen enjoyed the moment following the ceremony.

The Final Leg of Summer - July 12th to September 14th
The After Operation Dinner
DIANNE TREATED the old man to a dinner at Hershey's to get him out of the house.
OF COURSE, the old man had to have his suds. ;-)

The Olympics

THE OPENING CEREMONY and closing ceremonies were spectacular!!
THE GOLD MEDAL girl. She took it and made the Chinese howl, as did Michael Phelps.

A Summer's End Trip To Gettysburg and Bear Country
THIS BAND WAS a bit wanting, and so were the customers.

The Republican Convention

NOT SHOWN here was Governor Palin, the first Republican female to run as vice-President.
Suzy Goes Back to School

SUZY DIDN'T look too bad for for one going back classes and tests.
AND.........the final drop off...sad, but Salisbury's close by.

Summer's End for Good

EVERYONE KNEW when the final fireworks were over, the summer was done....
...BUT THAT didn't mean there wasn't any beach time. ;-)

THE OLD MAN had a big smile. Surf was up, but the knee was hurt.

LOOK AT THAT fat belly at lunch in Berlin

THIS WAS A determined bird trying to get into this bag...must'a been somethun' good.

MOTORCYCLE weekend the week after. Look at this guy who drove his bike into the restaurant at Sneeky Pete's. And how 'bout Popeye's arms. Now, this is a real man, real nice, too.

Fiddlers, Commodores and More - Sep. 19th - 21st
THE GIRLS SMILED at this beautiful day in Berlin because..
THIS WAS THE Fiddlers Convention. Some of the acts were miserable, the mandolins were exceptional...except for the guy who won the year before. He got wasted.

"The" poster.

GO MIAMI!!!! Beat Texas A&M real good. Food and beverages were good at the Greene Turtle. Every game was available.

THE COMMODORES later that night at the Sunfest were really the commobores. It was awful. Glad we didn't pay.

Football, Christmas and The Holidays

LOTS OF football throughout the season. Miami did OK..held its own, especially here at the Greene Turtle in Germantown.
THANKSGIVING at Marc's house was pleasent and the food was great nevermind the fact Guy couldn't figure out the X-box game on the TV. :-)

BUT OLD GUY had the upper hand with Marc as Loyola slaughtered Calvert Hall in the Turkey Bowl.

ON A COLD evening the following weekend after Thanksgiving in November, we managed to "sneak" into the OC Convention Center for this Chrismas gift gala. We got some trinkets like the Welcome Wager bandana for the dog and magnetic glasses keepers.

THE FOLLOWING week in December now, we stumbled onto this Magnificent Christmas carol, open house gala in Berlin. What a wonderful time!!!

....And Last, but not least, we took the Christmas Train and ended our tour here at the Christmas Tree!

Christmas to New Years
THE FIRST stop was Guy's B-Day on the 21st..nice cake.

CHRISTMAS DAY was wonderful, dinner was great. Too bad Snickers took umbrage at Marc's attempts at baseball on the screen

THE TOOLS OF the night at the Pirates Den. Talked to Marc and David at midnight. Cold and windy as hell..brrrrrrrr

NEXT DAY there was mass insanity, but it was for a good cause. Watched football at Greene Turtle, then to Assateague where there was the Annual New Year's Walk. Good way to welcome in the new year.

THE CINCINATTI Bearcats got smoked by Va. Tech the night after New Year's. Forgeddabout it - as was the Hurricanes' effort at the Emerald Bowl. Maryland won, though. ;-)

THEN IT was out of town and into 2009 after a final stop at Seacrets. A big bang afterwards if you know what I mean...two years in the making. The last entry for 2008.
