10th Wedding Anniversary - Ocean City, Maryland
Sep. 8th & 9th, 2001
STANDING BY THE VAN in the parking lot of the "Tally Ho" motel, Dianne expressed her views on the condition of the place. It was the only thing having a room available ( for $40 ), but the room was big and with a kitchen. A little smell of cat piss added to the flavor. We were very fortunate, otherwise we would have had to drive home, Ocean City was that crowded.
GUY CRACKED A smile after an invigorating swim and boogie board session. The water was superb, about 72 degrees, the sky was magnificently blue, and the wind was just enough to keep us cool. Fabulous day.
A PICTURE POST CARD of what the weather was like. Notice the blue sky. :-)
ALL WEEKEND LONG the roar of the iron horse was heard everywhere up and down the length of Ocean City. 3 am in the morning - don't matter. We were so sick of listening by Sunday morning we closed our van windows all the way home. These guys here were warm and friendly, from the Biker show in Whaleysville, but man, get me outta here.
"THIS BUD'S FOR YOU," said Guy with a pitcher of suds in Higgins restaurant.
"THIS CRAB'S FOR YOU," said Dianne. All-you-could-eat. Uhhhhhhh..mmmmmmmmmmm!!! :-)
A COLLECTION OF bright lights and strange people, that's what the boardwalk was all about.
DIANNE STOOD in front of the opening to the rides on the pier. It was fun to see the ferris wheel. Dianne was too chicken to go on it, though.
FROM THE Pier, one could see all the lights of downtown along the boardwalk. The moon was a red haze when we walked to the end of it and gazed out to sea. A perfect ending to a perfect day. Unfortunately, no one could have predicted the horror to come two days later in New York City, which changed the face of America.....and the world forever.
HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY!!
