   Hi everyone,
Today is my 27th birthday, and I thought I would do something different, so here for your viewing and downloading pleasure is Goury from Slayers! He's my first anime guy set and my first try at "fitting in" with other anime graphic designers. I think this came out rather well, and with minimal coding too (I always think about my newbies). You can also get this set in blue, green, purple, or orange, by e-mailing me.
How I did it:
First I created the background in paint shop pro 7 using the paint brush and line tool. It's basically just stripes and dotted lines. And because I did it in blue I used the colorize tool and picked out this red to start with. Then I saved the file in gif format and placed it into an html file (netscape composer which is free and comes with netscape communicator at netscape.com) then with the new background loaded into an html file I took a screen capture of it (using the little camera tool in psp7). On to the new screen cap I made the horizontal lines white on the colored part and brownish red on the white part (it wasn't so bad). Now here comes the tricky part...
To put your image on the screen capped background you will need to use the clone tool (I hate the layer pallet). With my preselected image all ready colorized to match the background I clone brushed him in (using the tool set with a hardness setting of 35) to the corner of the screen cap covering up the little spots where I messed up the horizontal line (shh don't tell anyone). After that was done to my liking I made the buttons using the line tool on the same screen capture and just painted over the lines that were already there. Then I sliced up the image into 4 pieces (head, banner area, and button created a 2 column table (margins of 0!!!) in an html file and placed all the images in. This set only took about an hour to make and personally I think even a newbie can do it!
I'm gonna go watch a movie with my husband and try to enjoy my birthday...
Lots of love,
