Something New
Marie wasn’t the only guest in the house now. Jane, Bob, BJ, Lesley, Aaron, and Angel had flown out and were all settled in. Now Marie was teaching Nick’s mother and sisters how to do the hip seduction dance. The living room was always filled with women swaying their hips.
Nick, Bob, and Aaron often found themselves vegged out in front of the big screen. Occasionally Jimmy would join them.
“Do they always get this way before a wedding? Shopping, make-overs, the giggling every time we enter or leave the room.” Aaron commented, referring to the seven women they shared the house with.
“Oh yeah. It will last right up until the reception. Thanks Nick.” Bob said sarcastically. All four sat around sipping their beer. Root beer in Aaron’s case.
The girls came home from shopping once again and each went straight to bed. Rianna was about to lie down when there was a knock at the door. Jane was on the other side. Rianna invited her in and they sat down.
“We all got together and picked these out for you. I hope you like them. It would mean so much to us if you would wear them when you walked down the aisle.” Jane held out her hand. Rianna took the small white box and inside was a pair of diamond earrings, teardrops.
“All of us Carter girls have a pair, and you should too.” Jane said with a soft smile.
“They’re beautiful. Aww, thank you so much, Mom.” She gave Jane a hug and a kiss on the cheek before Jane tipped back to bed. Rianna had her something new.
