Irrelevant

The doorbell rang and Rianna’s cat circled her legs as she went to answer it. Knowing it was Nick, she didn’t bother looking through the peep hole. He stepped in once the door was opened and kissed her cheek.

“You smell so good. What is it?” He asked?

“Candies.” She smiled. Marcy really knew her stuff. Nick took a long look at her and grinned.

“And you look.... you look dead sexy to be perfectly honest.” She blushed and took the two warm paper bags from Nick’s hand.

“My God, this is an awful lot of food.” She went into the dining room and pulled out two 12" cheese steak subs, french fries, and buffalo wings from one bag. From the other she pulled out nachos, two Pepsis, and something that looked like pizza rolls. How he got such a combination of food in just two bags was anyone’s guess. It made her curious as to where he could have possibly gone that served such a combination.

“Well, I forgot to ask what you liked to eat, so I got a little bit of everything.” Rianna was overwhelmed by all the food, and just decided to bring everything out on the coffee table.

Nick sat on the sofa and turned on the TV. It wasn’t long before Rianna was sitting beside him taking a bite from her sub.

“You look tense. Take your shoes off, relax.” Nick did just that and kicked off his huge Nikes.

Rianna took the remote from Nick’s lap. He looked up at her slyly, referring to how close she came to touching his crotch. She ignored him and pressed the menu button.

“Boys Don’t Cry is about to start. Ever seen it?” Nick nodded yes while chewing.”It was really touching and sad. Not that I’m gay or anything, but it really stresses how people hate what’s different. Stupid things like sexual preference, or even...”

“Race?” Nick finished her statement. He looked over at her seriously.

“Yes race. So many people make such a big deal over it. It’s irrelevant to me. If you love someone, why should their color matter. And the same goes for age and gender. You know?” Nick cupped Rianna’s face in his hands.

“You are so beautiful. Everything about you is beautiful. I’ve only known you for a few days, but I feel like.... I can’t explain it.” Rianna leaned in and kissed Nick on the lips. A chill ran up his spine. It sparked an urge to wrap his arms around her, and he did so.

Rianna pulled back. Nick still held her and with his eyes closed. That was until she spoke.

“Oh my God.....” Nick opened his eyes slowly. He saw that Rianna was looking down staring sternly at something. He looked down between his legs and saw a small wet stain in the middle of his fly.

“Fuck!” He jumped up and ran to the bathroom, nearly tripping over his own shoes. Rianna wanted so badly to laugh but held it in, not wanting to offend her date.

Rianna knocked on the door and Nick panicked. He tried to dry the stain by rubbing it with a towel vigorously, but it stayed the same.

“Are you okay in there? Listen, you don’t have to be embarrassed. It happened to me once in high school. I swore never to tell anyone about this. But, it was the night of the prom. My date and I were fooling around in the back of the limo. My dress was up of course, and when I got wet, it went clear through to the leather. And when the driver picked up my friend and her date, they saw the stain on the seat. It was terrible. I was so.....” Nick opened the door.

“Maybe I should go.” He stepped passed Rianna and went to get his shoes and his coat.

“No, please don’t go. I want you to stay. You and my brother are about the same size. He always leaves clothes here. You can wear something of his while I wash that.” She took his hand and kissed his cheek.

“Besides, I’m rather flattered by all of this. If I got you this randy, it would be rude of me to stop. Now go upstairs and in the guest room closet you’ll find some of Jimmy’s clothes.”

“Thanks sexy.” He dropped his jacket and shoes and headed up the stairs. Rianna sat back down and kept eating. The character Brandon was just meeting Lana in the movie when Nick reentered the room. He was wearing bright red Hawaiian swimming trunks. Rianna almost choked.

“Well, maybe I misjudged your size a bit. You’re a little bigger than Jimmy.” She laughed.

“Yeah, laugh it up. It’s all your fault anyway. Making me burst in my damn pants. I haven’t done that since I was 13.” Nick rolled his eyes feeling highly uncomfortable.

“And I could do it again too. The two watched one movie after another until it was well into the night. Almost 12. Rianna put the remainder of the food away and returned to the living room.

“My eyes hurt, too much TV. What else can we do?” Nick asked. Rianna shrugged and rested her head on Nick’s lap. She made circles on his knee with her finger.

“We can sit here and talk, we can go out, or we can go upstairs and have sex. Your call.” She joked. They both laughed.

They did eventually go up to Rianna’s room, but not to make love. Rianna sat in front of her stereo system and put in a CD. Slow music played, then a man began singing.

“I love this song. I listen to it everyday.” She stretched out on the floor and parted her legs. Then she reached for the arch of her right foot, following that with the left. Leaning over, she could lift her leg almost above her head.

She brought her legs back together, then leaned forward, letting her head meet her knees. Her stretching was giving Nick the same chill he experienced before.

“Stop.” he said, swallowing hard. Rianna rested on her back and looked up at Nick sitting on the bed.

“Make me.” she whispered back. He held his hand out and helped her up. They laid on the bed together looking up at the ceiling.

“Tell me something true. That no one else knows about you.” Rianna asked.

“Let me think. Well, I’m a little insecure. Although that’s not a secret. I have never actually said it out loud.

“Have you ever dated a girl like me?” Nick shook his head no.

“Well, besides color, am I much different than white girls?” Nick looked her over.

“First of all, you’re less likely to get sunburned. God knows that’s unattractive. I love your full lips. Those shapely hips. Don’t get me wrong, there are white girls with full lips and nice asses. But I’ve never dated any.” She giggled like a school girl.

“What about you? What was your last boyfriend like?”

“Tall, handsome, but very possessive. Always telling what to and what not to do. I hated that. That wasn’t the kind of man I wanted in my life. I’m a free spirit. I want someone who can allow me to be me. I guess that’s why it took so long for me to start dating again." Nick kissed her head and caressed her arms.

“I would never do that to you.” Nick looked around the room, It was painted to look like stars in the midnight sky. Specs of white paint scattered across a canvas of navy blue. Near the light switch was a name written in paint, Rianna’s name.

“You painted all this?” Rianna looked up at him.

“Yep. I hate white walls all around me. It’s so unimaginative. When I was little, my mother painted my wall to look like a tropical forest. Marcy had some kind of meadow on her wall. And Jimmy had so many posters, we never quite figured out what his was. Well, I got used to having murals for walls. Which is why I did this.” Rianna yawned after her explanation.

“Very creative. You should come to my house. Paint a big picture of yourself in the nude on my bedroom wall.” Rianna smiled. They were quiet for a while. Nick listened to the sound of her breathing and it soothed him. When he looked down at her, she was fast asleep. He wondered whether he should risk getting up and waking her, or should he stay where he was.

He decided to stay. He just held her close. Soon he fell asleep himself. And there they were, sleeping soundly in each other’s arms.
