We finally have confirmed a location for Pow Wow. It will be held at the Stone Ridge School, a private girls' school in Bethesda that is diagonally across Rockville Pike from the Marriott Scout Service Center. If people can find their way to Council, they'll be able to find their way to Pow Wow!
I've attached the latest version of the Pow Wow flyer which has the location information. Please note -- it also has one additional class that was inadvertently left off the original flyer: Course #3-8, Cub Scout Magic. Please mention this to folks when you send them the new flyer.
Please distribute this flyer to anyone and everyone you know who is interested in attending Pow Wow. The Steering Committee is working hard to have a great event this year and we're trying to reach 1,000 participants! We can certainly use your help to make this happen!

Come and join 1,000 fellow Cub Scout Leaders to learn new ideas for crafts, advancement activities, games, songs, program administration and much, much more!! All classes are taught by experienced Cub Scouters with an average of 5 years as leaders and/or trainers in the Cub Scouting program.
Pow Wow is open to all Cub Scout Leaders Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Den Leaders; Pack Committee Members and Chairmen; Pack Trainers (new position); Den Leader Coaches; Assistant Leaders at all levels; Chartered Organization Representatives; Unit Commissioners and interested parents and all adults associated with your Pack are encouraged to show up!!
All participants will attend six classes (from those listed) and receive lunch and a copy of this years Pow Wow book filled with ideas for the coming year. Best of all, theyll have the opportunity to network with other leaders from around the Council and the Northeast Region!

Webelos? BALOO?? COR??? Some of these Scouting terms are very strange! Join us in this class and find out what they mean. 2-2 Cub Scouts 101 Basic Communication Tools and Resources Communication with your Scouts, parents and other leaders is critical to a successful program. Well show you some tools and techniques from newsletters to e-mail to make it work. 2-3 Program Planning Resources and Implementation Is your Pack in a "program rut"? Need some new ideas to make things better? Well show you where to go for information and how to use it! 2-4 Pack/Troop Interaction Want to spark interest in your Cubs and Webelos so theyll want to go on and become Boy Scouts? Working closely with your Troop to plan and carry out joint activities with the Pack will help do the trick! 2-5 Leader Transitions ..or Recruiting Your Replacement Eventually, every leader moves on .to Boy Scouting or retirement. Come to this class and learn all about this outstanding program. 4-6 Revitalizing Your Pack Sometimes a Pack needs someone to come along and breathe a little life back into it. Heres your chance to become properly certified. 5-3 Webelos Camping and Planning for Summer Residence Camps Do you know how to take your Webelos on an overnight campout or whats involved with preparing to go to Goshen? Well take the mystery out of your planning and preparation. 5-4 Family Camping for Younger Scouts: BALOO Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation NOTE: requires 2 sessions
This training is for the all new BSA program for camping with Wolves and Bears. Youll leave this class rarin to go and with your certification in the BALOO program. Help keep the OUTING in ScOUTING! 5-5 Nature Discovery Activities Its a wonderful world out there .learn the skills and knowledge you need to share it with your boys. 5-6 Campfires and Nighttime Discover Activities Learn ho to plan an effective and fun campfire program. Get new ideas for other nighttime activities for your outings. 5-7 Lets Go Build Something There are many companies and organizations in the area that will help teach your Scouts basic skills in building, including the safe use of tools. Well show you where to go and how to arrange a visit with your neighborhood business. 5-8 Native American Lore This program will teach you some of the legends, beliefs, and stories of the first Americans and how to tie them into the Cub Scout program.
