1) Usefulness --- Site must effectively serve the valid information needs of some or all of the Bon Secours Community. "Valid" information needs include specific clinical queries, basic medical background literature, professional development issues, and selected "general knowledge" requests. Web sites that are designed purely for entertainment purposes (games, movie links, etc.) will not be included. Sites that offer entertainment components as well as information (e.g. sites with medical humor pages as well as information about continuing education programs) may be considered for inclusion.
2) Authority of Source --- The entity responsible for the intellectual content of a web site should be clearly-defined. Clinical information, practice guidelines, etc. should come from a source that is generally recognized/respected in the field. While non-profit organizations are preferred, commercial sites may be included if the commercial origins are clearly identified on the web site.
3) "User Friendliness" --- Sites that are well-organized and easy to navigate are preferred, although sites that are less than optimal in this area may be included if they meet a unique need..
