Moon Lady

the Faeries dance in the woodlands,
bringing upon both beauty and light.
they wake with morning sunshine,
and place the dewdrops 'round;
they take the Stars from the nighttime skies
and keep them ‘til night falls again.
they herald in the dawn;
with the birds, calling down the Sun's might,
they bloom with the flowers, and fly with the bees,
they dance on the treetops, and play in the waves,
and the sun smiles on.
then when the Sun's warm time is up,
they pull Him down and paint the skies.
the Faeries release the Stars,
and they take their rightful place
as adornment for the Moon.
the Fae call on the Moon,
to take Her rightful place
as Queen and Lady of night's time.
She is the ruler of men's hearts, women's wits,
She is the keeper of knowledge and love,
She is the light in the dark of our lives.
She guides us and teaches,
loving, but cool and firm.
She knows when to hide Her face,
and when is best to shine.
She entraps us with her soft silver glow,
and draws us up in Her embrace.
She captures and keeps our heart and soul.
And the Faeries dance and twirl with the stars,
Her most loyal subjects of all.
they come in our sleep, and give us dreams
of hope, of love, of happiness,
and Her, the Lady of the Night,
the Queen who will graciously concede
the day to the Sun.
for She needs not to be bright and bold,
but prefers the quiet glow of night
to work Her soft magick in our hearts.
