Chapter 6

It was a week later and I still wasn’t sleeping well. I’m in Quebec City for tonight, and then we head out to New York City for TRL tomorrow and the day after. Tomorrow I’m going on as a guest, and the day after I’m hosting the last day before SoCal Summer. My tour ends in Washington D.C in a week, and then I head back to California for SoCal Summer and to work on my third cd. During the last week I had received calls from almost all of the guys. Rich had called almost every day, and the more I talked to him, the more I began to see him more as a friend than as a boyfriend. The one guy who had not yet called was JC, and for some reason it hurt. We had shared a moment in that club, and I thought that of anyone, we would be closer. Lance and Justin called the most, and we had become really close. Justin is a lot like me, even down to our morning rituals, and we had come to see eachother as sister and brother. I was sitting in my room when the phone rang.

“Hello?”

“Hey sis, what’s up?” Justin asked.

“Not much bro, you?”

“Well, I’m fine, but there is a certain guy on this bus who has been fairly moody since we left you.”

“Who is that?”

“Who else? JC!” he laughed.

“What’s wrong with him?”

“Well, he has a problem. He met this girl, but he’s too nervous to call her.”

“Oh,” I replied. For some weird reason, I felt really sad about hearing that he had met someone else.

“Yeah, so we need to figure out a way to have him see her,” Justin said, breaking me away from my thoughts.

“Well, that shouldn’t be too hard, right?”

“Well, this certain girl is usually really busy.”

“Hmm….do you know if she likes him back?”

“No, but we have a feeling that she might.”

“Well, why don’t you call her and ask her? Because then you can either tell JC to forget about her, or tell him to go for it.”

“Okay, that sounds like a good idea,” Justin started to say, but a knock interrupted.

“Hold on babe, I have to go get the door.” Jamie was there, and he told me that I needed to leave and go to the venue.

“Hey bro? I gotta go! I’m late!”

“Wait! I need to ask you something!”

“Can it wait til later? I really have to go! I’ll call you later!”

“Fine, but you better call me!” I promised I would and I hung up the phone.

The concert went really well, and we went out to a club afterwards. By the time I got back to the hotel, I had forgotten about calling Justin.

“Okay everyone, after this next song we are going to be joined by the talented and sexy Laura,” Carson said before announcing the number 7 video.

After the break, I went out and said hi to Carson and everyone.

“Hey Laura, how are you doing?” Carson asked.

“I’m really good right now! I can’t wait til I get to SoCal Summer!” I said as cheers errupted from the audience.

“Yeah, I’m looking forward to hanging out with you in the hot sun,” Carson joked.

“You know it Carson! I bought a new string bikini just for you!” I laughed.

“Yow! Can’t wait to see that, right guys?” all the guys whistled and cheered.

“Anyways, I have a surprise for all of you!” I said to the audience. “I brought something with me that you all might want to see!”

“Ouhh! Is this what I think it is?” Carson asked.

“Yup! Here for you all to see for the very first time is my newest video, Goodbye Love!” The camera man cut to the video, and everyone in the studio seemed to love it.

“Wow! Love the new video Laura!” Carson told me.

“Thanks Carson!” We went through the videos one by one and I played the ‘Guess the Music Video’ game with a college-aged guy. I won him a prize and gave him a hug, and he seemed very happy.

“Well, it’s time to say goodbye! Remember that Laura will be here tomorrow hosting the show while I’m setting up in California, and then you’ll see her again in her sexy new bikini!”

“You’re such a dork,” I laughed after the producer signalled that we were off air.

“Yeah, but you know it only makes the show more exciting,” he laughed.

“Whatever you want to believe Carson,” I laughed with him.
